The question is whether I can do this and if so, how.

I’m really not sure where to post this.

During character creation, after selecting your race, you select your profession and there is a very impressive piece of armour put on your character to represent that profession (until you go to the next screen and you get to see and modify the starter armour).

I had assumed that representative armour at profession selection was something you could work towards and I fell in love with the Sylvari Mesmer’s “demo” armour (for lack of a better word) when I saw it. I note that the mesmer trainer in The Grove is wearing that armour but I have yet to find anywhere to purchase or create that specific look.

Perhaps it is a combination of various sets and I’m working on experimenting with that but in the mean time I thought I’d ask if anyone else has had any luck in getting those appearances.

All “demo” armors are available ingame.

Masquerade Shoulders and Boots – Tailor rare set
Nightmare Chest and Legs – Explorer dungeon armor, purchasable in Lion’s Arch from Valiant Saeraquel at Fort Marriner. You’ll need tokens from Twilight Arbor for those.

The only piece I’m not sure about are the gloves.

It’s normally the PvP crafted set you can get at the mystic forge or bought from a vendor in Orr for 43k Karma a piece.
Sometimes it’s Tier 3 armour, too.

I neglected to realise that I hadn’t checked out the Orr vendors yet as, even at level 80, slowly exploring the areas in the game.

I’m off to get myself some armour!!
