I had to change the gender of my Sylvari from a female to a male because the glow bug is still not fixed. I have tried all the suggestions made by others in this forum and other forums. Nothing works.

When I originally created her, my Sylvari female had black hair and a red glow that WORKED. When I used the makeover kit, her glow disappeared. I wasted 3 makeover kits—that’s REAL WORLD MONEY—trying to fix this issue. Finally, I used a 4th to change her gender to male to get the glow.

I shouldn’t have to spend my money to fix a feature that the developers won’t fix. And it’s not even fixed even after I spent 1400 gems on it! All I did was change genders to get a glow and have my character look (mostly) as it was intended.

Please fix this bug. Please, please fix this bug. And also, I’ll be looking for a refund.

Yeah this happened to me too, though I just contacted support and they refunded my gems. They just suggested waiting till it was fixed before I tried it again.

I contacted support and they refunded my gems for the kits. I hear you can use a kit to change gender, then switch genders again to fix the glow, kittenty work around though.

Is that taking one kit or two? For example. Do I use a kit, switch to male, save, and use another kit to switch back to female? Or is it using one kit and simply toggling genders real quick before saving? My poor little ele looks so dull without her glow.

I would like to know the answer to this also. And is it a sure-fire fix? I would hate to have to drop ANOTHER $10 on it to switch back to male if it doesn’t work…

And i haven’t tried the gender switch yet so i am unaware of weather it takes one or two kits.

Thanks, Laii! I put my incident number in the second thread and made it very clear that I had not received a refund for the 4 kits I used on my Sylvari female. Mail today said they are “reviewing” the situation.

I’m not sure what there is to review except that there is a bug they’re not telling people about when they buy the makeover kit. :/

They refunded me for 3 Makeover Kits after I posted on the other board yesterday. <3

I got a gem refund so I bought a makeover kit with it and I’m just waiting for the bug to get fixed before I use it.

It’s a bit meh but as long as people get their gems refunded it’s not that bad.

Any word on when this will be fixed, I am so sad that i cannot glow.

some anet responses in this thread but unfortunately no word on when/if we will get a fix. :-(

This happened to me too… I tried using a second makeover kit to set the glow back up to 100%, but nothing changed. I send in a bug report, but no gems were ever refunded or anything. Oh well. I hope it gets fixed soon!

You have to go to the Support section of this site, click on Refunds/Gem Refunds and explain your situation. Don’t forget to mention Total Makeover kits and how many you used. There is a difference between a normal makeover kit and a Total one.

And yes, I wish this would be fixed as soon as possible, even though I know its probably considered a low priority right now. I miss seeing my sylvari all pretty at night…
