Well, I have an idea about this.

I mean, the standard way wouldn’t work, this would cause to many friction fires.

So! this is how I assume it works!

A Sylvari pays a charr, the Sylvari rubs up against the charr coving him in pollen, the Sylvari sends the charr off into the world to let nature take its course!

They don’t Procreate. Sylvari are grown in pods by the Pale tree.
as for ‘mating’ one assumes that if they did that some sort of sap would be present.
But noting that it’s largely irrelevant to the average sylvari whether thier ‘partner’ is male or female, I would suggest that they dont… mate. not physically anyway. more emotional bonding.

This was my idea. I don’t think they have a sex drive, not in the way we would understand it anyway. They do not procreate like other mammals or animals since they aren’t. They are all grown as saplings from the pale tree, and seeing that they are a young race we don’t know if there may be other ‘trees’ capable of producing Sylvari or if as Sylvari age they will implant and be able to produce ‘spores’ or seedlings of their own.

Anet has already said that Sylvari can have physical sex. Since they don’t have the ability to reproduce they don’t care what they have sex with. Frisky devils.

Makes you wonder just how “close” some Sylvari Rangers are to their Fern Hound pets, doesn’t it? I mean, they’re BOTH children of the Pale Tree…

I think that they have intercourse like humans, since they are modeled on humans. The females have chests and I assume they have the other parts too. They don’t have children though, they are born from the Pale tree.

This is correct. Devs confirmed sexual intercourse without the ability to birth children. They also confirmed functional sexual organs, but sadly, no nipples.

Sylvari grows like fruits on trees like the Pale Tree. There might be other trees in Tyria that does the same. That, or maybe some grow in the ground before being pulled up by shocked farmers mistaking them for their crops of carrots or turnips.
