I saw someone running around as Pa’u Zotoh Zhaan when the game went live. Other then that, not a single thing heard. It may have been a somewhat obscure conclusion, but its nothing to really get excited over.

If they based the Sylvari off anything, I’d go with dryads. Tree/plant people really aren’t that uncommon in fantasy. Like Ents!

Yea farscape was the first thing that popped into my head. Then the man eating plant from “Little Shop of Horrors” ‘Feed me Symore FeeeEEEEEDD ME!!!’

Yup, totally thought about the episode “Bone to Be Wild” in season 1, which had plant people that the Sylvari look just like!

…now i feel totally ashamed i did not immediately think of Zhaan

but no, i think Delvians are a closer match to sylvari than the “Bone to be wild” creature (who happens to be played by Browder’s (Chrichton) wife btw)

I always saw them as Games Workshop wood elf dryads, they have some of the same hairstyles anyway. But plant people are plant people, they are bound to be similar.
