I swear every patch I keep hearing my female Sylvari say different things.

when my female asura jumps or dodges sometimes she barks true story

I will never make another Sylvari female again…
Omg I made a Sylvari elementalist and I couldn’t bear that God awful sound…

The problem is my race and gender choices are limited due to me being a female and role playing a male character in game feels just plain silly to me. So I have to go with female characters but the lack of options is frustrating.

Sylvari: Never again! That sound of pain makes me wanna jab my eyeballs out. Although I love her regular voice and accent, the scream of pain is definitely a deal breaker! If they fixed it, I’d reroll Sylvari again.

Charr: I don’t feel inclined towards this race.

Norn: The Norn females sound and act like transvestites, too masculine for my taste.
You can make them as pretty or lean as you can but still something about them is off putting. Plus why would I want to play a human but only bigger, maybe the idea would be more enticing if I would play a male character but I simply wont.

Asura: I dont mind it as much, they can even be cute but what is up with the whole ET + Gnome splice theme??

Human: I have leveled a female human ranger all the way to 80 and I don’t have anything to complain about.

So it seems I am stuck with the human race and wont be able to explore other personal story lines anytime soon…

My only Sylvari is male, precisely because the yelping of the female in combat drives me nuts (and I do want to keep sound on because it gives me cues about aggression). Changing that one sound would make a female Sylvari tolerable for me.

This one is bothering me more than anything else. I started hating being crippled just because the character sounds like she’s being skinned and dredged with salt afterwards every time you get the condition.

OMG you hit the nail on the head with that. It’s so jarring! lol

The other sound effect that bothers me is the “Mediation” sound. It honestly sounds like she is trying to imitate a wolf or something.

To be honest, they make me laugh more then annoyed.

just rolled a female sylvari elementalist.. and am very seriously thinking of re-rolling.

it isnt just the scepter earth attuned auto attacks, IT IS every scepter auto attack!!!

please wtf? stuff it… writing this up has convinced me of how much i hate this sylari female concept :P
seriously, waving a wand is not like clay court tennis… is doesnt need this much grunting :P… not sexy, not practical and mostly only annoying :P

good bye female sylvari, i guess when i am not scared of your sounds i might roll another.. some day.. when i have a spare toon slot … :P up to 7 as of writing.. and i aint buying more :P
