Summon Druid Spirit Remake
I agree, its waaaay to easy to kill ATM, and I never see it place regeneration or draw conditions yet.. I went back to Take Root (hopefully they will fix it so I get my 30 SP worth :<)
The radius of the Regeneration/Draw Conditions AoE is very small and will only trigger if the summoner is within range, as far as I’ve tested. Considering that the Spirit tends to be left in the back of the fight due to its lack of survivability, these boons are rarely activated.
I have but never use this trait as there are far better choices (namely Take Root).

What exactly do those skills do? I can only guess for apply regeneration that it applies healing, but to itself or to others? As for Draw Conditions, I’m guessing it’ll take conditions from you and put it on itself if you’re near? Not sure.. I haven’t seen it’s skills in use for a couple days now.
As a note, at lvl 63 (same level as me right now) it does over 1.1k dmg with its AoE spell. It’s not bad, but the spirit has no close ranged melee abilities like a knock down or knock back attack which makes it a poor ability compared to other lesser Elites.
Sorry for the double post, but I was fighting a Veteran Mossheart earlier (same “type” as the spirit druid) and what it does is that it binds enemies in roots AoE fashion, it does the one handed pound, and it also knocks nearby foes backwards.
If the Druid Spirit had this, it would be awesome!
^The above video shows a thief fighting a Moss Heart and you can see when it attempts to push back the thief using its arm that is the kind of skill the druid spirit needs along with the binding roots ability (even though it’s similar to the immobilizing skill that the druid spirit already has.
I’d say, add in the knock back skill and double the druid spirit’s health, and increase the immobilizing time for it’s AoE attack to 3 and 1/2 seconds and that would make it good to go.

In beta the druid spirit knocked everything down with every attack. They saw fit to nerf druid spirit of course. I can’t say I blame them, sounds like it would make many fights trivial – yet in it’s current state it really lacks any sort of flavor.
It needs to do something …druidish. Perhaps it would cast a spell to revive any downed players? The regen that the tooltip states would at least be a good start.
After a couple of weeks messing around and testing the Druid Spirit, I’ve realized that it spontaneously and rarely uses AoE regeneration even when I’m at close proximity to it and even when we’re all taking damage down to even 50% health.
I even went as to compare the Druid Spirit to the Champion Aboreal Spirit in Eternal Battlegrounds. That spirit, which almost looks exactly like the Druid Spirit, pops out seeds that make seed turrets, uses AoE binding roots, knockdown, and knocks back.
Druid Spirit needs some of that power to even be useful in a tide changing way. I suggest:
Add in the knockback melee attack that does 1200-1500 dmg at Lvl 80 to mobs with standard armor with no cooldown for the knockback. Make the Druid Spirit apply regeneration automatically when the caster or itself reaches 75% health with a 20sec CD. Make the immobilizing chains skill have a 4 seconds cooldown, and have the spirit reliably draw conditions from us and have a skill animation for it.
As for the druid like skill, I’d utilize the Champion Aboreal Spirits Disperse Seed Turrets Skill and have 2 turrets spawn with a 30% chance to proc the skill with a 30 second cooldown for the skill.
If all of these go in, this skill would finally receive it due justice.
I would even be so glad as to record and upload a video of how negatively limited this skill is as a tier 2 Elite skill. Please ArenaNet! Revamp this skill for the Sylvari players!

I agree the thing is so underpowered, it needs a boatload more toughness and a 10 minute cool down, feels weird summoning this huge thing and it dying four seconds later. As for cool down, if you reduce how often you can summon it, you can buff it right?

It’s worse being a sylvari ranger x.x Both our super elites are spirits, both of which are incredibly weak right now.
Needs a change, I found only one use for the spirit so far:
Making people fail the Mad King’s Clocktower by blocking their views with the massive spirit, mwahahaha
One thing to greatly improve it at once: make it untouchable/untargettable. Simple, and it works!
Easiest solution would be to swap Druid and take root point costs. It would make more sense and would justify take root having the immunity and turret summon ability. Maybe add a heal turret to compensate for the point increase.
I don’t think that it needs more health.
I tested it’s health tonight and it was around 10k.
Took it to Orr and let a condition hit tick on it from those big balls that shoot out green spit.
Got 38 times counted at 269 damage for each tick.
My mesmer pets don’t even hit 3k health and some get one shotted. Ettins are notorious for one-shotting pets. I can have a total of 3 out at a time. That is easy to see with a mesmer, take it to an ettin if you think you have it buffed. When I compare it to my pets, roughly it has the health of all 3 of mine combined or more. Some people think pets only have 2k health.
This druid was stronger because of the larger health pool.
It can tank a LOT better and I was able to heal it.
The CD seems long but when I think about that it lasts 60 seconds and has a 240 second CD, that means it could be up 240/60=4 So that means it can be up 25% of your playtime barring being killed by enemies but all pets suffer that.
My concern would be that you can’t move while casting it. You can’t even TURN your character to look around you while casting it. If you do either of those, the CD of 5 seconds or so starts and the skill stops casting. That is a big problem since it limits you from being mobile.
What I was testing was a condition and I was standing right next to it, I never saw it remove mine or its or I would not have been able to count the ticks on it. I did get a regeneration buff sometimes but it always said me as the source, not the druid but I think it put it on me.

yeah i think need a remake
They need to make it more durable for how very long of CD it is and actually do what it says it does. If it’s mainly for support it needs to live a lot longer.
IMO the remake should also include it being changed into an entirely different creature. Humans get an Oaksage transform, no need to make another Oaksage related racial. Unless they make it a more unique Oaksage like the Nightmare tree?
Fern Mastiff also feels pretty useless and could use a remake, although we have too many squishy “minion” related stuff as racials. Should scrap Fern to something like summoning a trap field of volatile blossoms that damage rapidly like the TA ones. :P Fern Mastiff model could replace Druid if they made it bigger and cooler looking~
Or make it a plant version of Sif http://youtu.be/dVOBoMzcl0Q :P jk, that’d be OP.

actually the ranger spirit is really good for clutch revives. i got really good at doing this after seeing it been done in a youtube. but rampage with 1 is just the better option.
with Warbanner nerf on revive this is pretty much reliable. on a last second rally. the cool down though is way to long.
Been a while now, anyone know how it procs regeneration and condition removal? :O..
