How useful is this elite? I’ve never used it really, well once, I notice it gives blood and poison and can even crit, and makes my sylvari say “Let us fly!” but is this an actual useful elite?
EDIT: And keeps you in combat -_-

Yeah it’s not overly useful – but then it probably depends on what profession you’re playing.

I’m an elementalist so the Sylvan Hound makes absolutely no sense when I have access to the Earth Elemental summon.

It’s useful if you need something warm to cuddle with. That’s about it.

I do it well because I was groomed and raised by Sylvan Hounds the moment I hatched from my little Tree egg. So I was taught by the best.

I have a Sylvari Mesmer, and during solo PvE, I use the racial elites. It’s usually Take Root, but I pick the hound if I want fast-spawning single target ally.

So, it’s useful in that aspect.

The Sylvan hound looks simply perfect alongside my Sylvari mesmer in a mix of cultural armor. But other than open world PVE, the elite doesn’t have much use as it can be easily replaced by a skill with more technical benefits.

Too bad it can’t just stay out with us till it dies like Necro’s Flesh Golem.

This oh god this. I would actually use it more if this were the case, and give it a tackle like the wolf of a ranger instead of golem charge…….. Sounds good right?

Considering how easy it does though, probably not. Can’t be used in Spvp and would die instantly to AOE in WvW.

It’s good for distracting a baddie. My engie has used it in the CoE dungeons alot.
