Sylvari And Necromancer Just Seems So Ironic
Nope, sylvari are fascinated with death. Its a mystery to them, in fact, a sylvari necro is rather normal, look at Trahearne. play on
Ah true! good I do not feel so guilty then.
Sylvari necromancer is very interesting. Many of the minions a necro creates are abominations made of dead flesh. My Sylvari laughs at how easy it is to manipulate meat. Eew.
Yeah, Sylvari probably don’t feel the same way as other fleshy races when having to cobble together a meat golem for useful purposes. Just look at Killeen from the official Ghosts of Ascalon novel!
I personally role-play my Sylvari Necro as having a sombre outlook on life, who acts as a personification of Truth: that death is inevitable and will eventually come to everyone.
Of course, like every proper clichéd story, he gets to have a Mesmer twin sister specialising in intoxicating dreams, eternal slumber, Lies and eldritch pink butterflies. :}
Here is another thread from a long time ago with more input from some players on the subject if you are interested.
Also, the one conversation between a sylvari necromancer and another npc is quite humorous. I can’t remember where it is, but the sylvari is quite cheerful and talking about death and the other npc says something about are they sure they’re a necromancer and how maybe they’ve chosen the wrong profession.

I thought of that thread, too, having posted in it before.
There are several ways you can consider necromancy and a sylvari as going well together, actually. Have fun with it!
Necromancers in general were pretty funny during Escape from LA. “I am Death, and I am here to save you!”

At least they’re humane. They want the terminally ill to die with dignity.
