Has anyone noticed that their Sylvari’s eyes have been significantly darkened recently?

My character’s eyes used to be bright yellow, and now they have become a murky dark orange, covered with some sort of texture.

I thought it was just me imagining things, but yes. My Sylvari’s eyes were a bright orange to match her glow, and now they’re a darker reddish color. It’s not a terrible change, but it was an unpleasant surprise when I first noticed it, and dyeing armor to match my character is much more annoying.

yes me too- I was so focused on the armour change that it took me a while to notice but all 4 my Sylvari’s now have murk for eyes.
I had white, light yellow, a golden orange and a honey brown

Yah, now that you mention it mine have changed too.

My female Sylvari had light blue eyes. They’re slightly darker blue now. Not too big a change nor a big problem, though I did prefer them lighter (obviously, that’s why I chose them that color in the first place).

My male, however… he used to have bright yellow-orange eyes, and they’re very dark orange (almost red) now. I do not like. I’ve always hated red eyes.

I hope this was an unintentional change that’s going to be reverted. I do not like the idea of being stuck with almost-red eyes, nor do I appreciate the idea of needing to use a Total Makeover Kit to fix them.

Mind you, this MAY have been a fix to make the Sylvari eyes more accurate to the on-screen color display. I went and used a Total Makeover Kit just to check (didn’t actually change anything yet, just cancelled out after), and my male is using Amber as his eye color. Which, based on the actual color square on the screen, should be dark brownish red orange. So the “new” color is much closer to the actual square than what the color of my Sylvari’s eyes used to be using the Amber color. However, I still don’t like it being changed out of the blue after so long being perfectly happy with the eye color I’d chosen. And none of the colors really capture the same bright yellow-orange that I used to have either, so even if I wanted to waste another Makeover Kit to change it, I wouldn’t be able to get the old look.

I did notice that my Sylvari’s eyes seemed to be a darker blue than before. (I’d made her eye colour as close a match to her glow as possible.) Good to hear it’ll be fixed.

Thanks Kristen! Popped onto my sylvari to find that his eyes had gone from a fetching pale salmon to bright orange red. Red eyes are like a haunting reminder of my fanfiction days and I don’t want ’em!

I been wondering if they fixed it, my Sylvari’s eyes seem a lot brighter lately, unless I’m going crazy. It’s like they’re glowing their bright orange in both day and night-time now. Which isn’t a bad thing. but yeah it seems different.

It doesn’t seem as if mine are on two of my characters. One seems fine, one seems really bad, and one just seems dark.

Ok, the color changed back to the original version, BUT sometimes, in a dark place (night or dungeon), the bug is still here !!

I still see the same bug..
People pay real money to be able to change eye colours and then this bug will just change it to red.
If I buy a television which changes the channels by itself, its broken and I would get a refund.
I claim everyone who ever bought a makeover kit has the right to get a refund, as ya have been selling a faulty product.

If you purchased a kit and changed your eye colour and the game then changed it to red or whatever, and that was not intended, file a support ticket. I imagine the problem was fixed for most people, so if you are an isolated case of it not working then submit a support ticket and I am sure they will happily give you another kit to rectify the problem.

I’m glad i found this thread, i thought it was supposed to be like that and it’s horrible.

I thought I somehow forgot how I customized my Sylvari. I was even going to buy one of those makeover kits because her eyes look black and red. I thought it was because I chose a blue/purple color originally and the artists changed the shading or something.

Is there any eye color choice that doesn’t look red in game and on the character select screen? I’m really not a fan of red eyes.
