The NPCs go on about all this stuff about what sylvari are and are not like, kind of ignoring the fact that there’s one standing right next to them.

Also annoyed about the ending where you have to schedule an audience with the pale tree. “I don’t think your reputation will be enough” or something like that.
Actually, I think it would be, considering the player character is pretty much the champion of the grove who was entrusted with one of the most difficult wyld hunts ever. I mean, you’re like her #3 buddy after traehearne and caithe, and resident expert on dragon killing.

And when you’re all like “Oh my god it’s full of stars” no one really cares that you are essentially Scarlet 2.0

I know they’re just writing one-size-fits-all quests for the most part, but sometimes it’s kind of silly.

Why’s everything always got to be human pov?

Well it’s not human pov, it’s just not a Sylvari pov. So yeah, it was kind of annoying. But I THINK they were trying to imply that the Pale Tree is super busy so in spite of your reputation you still need to basically request an audience. They just didn’t convey it that well and it made Kasmeer look like an imbecile considering as the Sylvari who defeated Zhaitan we are sort of one of her most important children -_-

Haha… that’s exactly what I typed to a friend when I was watching that scene.

Keep in mind that since so many other threads are complaining about Sylvari villains, it might be wise to keep a low profile…

Yeah that was…strange. I see the pale tree all the time guys!
If I was them I’d also be a bit worried that another Sylvari went through that machine since they already had scarlet (even for a non Sylvari I would be worried) and another Sylvari going off their nut (pun not intended) with similar symptoms to her recently.

Haha maybe, my brother was talking to me for that so I missed a bit of the conversation.

I was expecting all present npcs to jump my sylvari – or at least, be on the defensive and try not to provoke a wrathful outburst. But instead, they trust her 100% and will back her up entirely. Totally not the next she-villian.

It’s probably more intending to be talking about the entire group instead of just you.

Even then, an actual meeting might take a bit, as opposed to just saying hi.

That totally sounds like something Braham would say in that situation too. Missed opportunities..

That wouldn’t be racist, it would be a legitimate concern. Obviously it won’t happen cause we are PCs, but the NPCs don’t know that.

Objectively I would have been very concerned about a sylvari walking into that machine.

I’d imagine ANYONE walking into a machine that completely exposes your mind to the entire workings of the world would be suspect, Sylvari or no. I see no indication that Sylvari are any more susceptible to having their minds “broken” than any other race (though I’m sure the Asura would like to believe they’re above it :p). So actually, they could have added something like that to the PS and still made it fit everyone. Maybe they’ll get into it later, who knows.

And the whole Pale Tree thing… yeah, that’s a bit silly. Again, even for non-Sylvari, really. Anyone one any race can openly go and talk to the Pale Tree, she always welcomes visitors of any race openly, and she’s occasionally had living-story related responses even. You could talk to her about Scarlet and after her death inform her of her passing. Heck, she even guides every player character through a mission in the Personal Story. But now all of a sudden she can’t be bothered? Its not like we’re going up to have tea and talk about the weather, its a pretty important issue we need to discuss. Just as important as Zhaitan was, and again she seemed to have no trouble having us visit her and even personally helping us with that.

Yeah, she’s probably busy… Y’know, being a tree and all… Lots of places to go and stuff…
