I really enjoy my Sylvari ranger, even with the up and downs of being a ranger, that just goes with the territory. But there are times, when my pet goes down, and he says I can not lose my pet, it comes across as whiny. At those moments I feel like telling him to get a grip lol. Any one else feel the same? Out of interest, are other races on ranger as whiny when their pet goes down?

…………I’m not sure how feeling compassion for their companion and not wanting to lose them is whiny.

My Sylvari ranger usually says “NO” and when it revives, “Now is not time for eternal sleep” or something like that. I like both haha

My Charr says “Pet down!” or “My pet needs health” when his pet goes down. When it gets back up he’ll occasionally say “Heh, were you just playing dead?” (which is awesome). So yah, a bit less worried and emotional.

I think it fits the races, though. Sylvari who are closer to nature (and in general seem to be an empathetic race) would become more emotionally attached to their pets than Charr, who are militaristic and would probably tend to view them as war beasts.

When my pet goes down my female human ranger says either “Pet down!” or “No! My pet!”, when he comes back at the end of the fight she says “So, you were just playing dead”.
I’m not completely sure but I think she may also say, when my pet comes back to life, “Back to the fight”, but don’t be too sure on this.

I have always thought it was really cute tbh

My human just goes “Pet down!”… I kind of wish I was more like the sylvari in that case =/. It just sounds “matter of fact” in battle.

Huh. I think I’ve figured out what class I’m going to use for my Asura character. Asura ranger would be truly weird, and therefore awesome.

It wouldn’t even be all that weird if you call your Asura “Bioexpert [something]” or similar.

I kind of like how my Sylvari Ranger cares about this Wolfhound.
