I love it, I’m very happy with the change, much more like the original textures that I loved so much!

It seems to be totally reverted back to my old appearance to me (even the dye colors went back to my old dye settings I do believe). There is still a hint of glow there, but not a lot.

Personally I’m glad its changed back, but I can tell this is just a rough area to tread. People will hate it or like it. Thats why messing with existing armor from the beginning was a bad idea imo. Should of just made alternate sets.

They should just add a slider. Honestly before the first change T3 light didn’t glow and I didn’t buy it then it glowed and I wasted 100+ gold on it, now it will only glow if you apply very specific colours in very specific locations and even then you have to squint to see it.

While I fully understand why some didn’t like the first changes, there are many who did. Restricting a nice glow to varying shades of white dye is frustrating when I had my armour glowing a lovely turquoise.

I am delighted with the change. The previous update ended up changing my playing habits a lot; I started avoiding the Grove and other Sylvari areas because looking at the new armours made me cringe. The dull, lifeless look they suddenly had made me think of wilting leaves, which was just sad. My secondary main’s endgame set (T3 light, decked out in expensive runes, dyes, and transmuted with crystals, so real money was spent on it) and other Sylvari characters (among them a T3 medium) were affected and looked so bad I ended up spending much less time on them, which cut my playtime in more than half of what it was before.

It is not completely reverted back to how it was before, at least not the T3 light. The dyes behave differently in different places now, and are overall darker than before. I still get a nice glow, at least on the front of the T3 skirt. The back of it seems to not glow at all, which I find odd but suspect might be a bug? But bugged back or not, I am very glad and thankful to have my mesmer back to looking almost as he did before the change. I am very happy with the T3 medium glow now. Before this change I had to change my ranger’s armour to be able to play her at all since even matte medium blues made her glow bright white at night, which did not suit her at all. I do think the dye channels on medium needs more work, though, as a lot of people have trouble dying it without getting unwanted undertones of completely different colours in it.

However, despite being happy about the recent changes I still think the update to add glow was a mistake. It has previously been stated that updating existing hairstyles is not a good idea due to the many people who had picked it because they loved it for how it was, and I wish the same consideration had been taken into account for those of us who had bought these armours because we loved them for what they were (and spent a lot of money transmuting onto functional exotics). Now the people who bought the sets for the new glow are experiencing the same problems we were before; the armour they bought does not look like the ones they have now. I wish a second set had been created for a glowing version, instead.

I still think it is a nice compromise, seeing as we have the texture and gloss back (even if the colours are darker now) while retaining glow. It just seems like there might be a few bugs that needs fixing.

personally I will be very disappointed with the changes if it does turn out that the Tier 3 Medium Cultural Armor does not glow if I decide to get it and get the colors applied to it that I want to apply to it.

Now with that said, I will probably be settling for Tier 2 Medium Cultural Armor due to the fact that it doesn’t clip as badly with my weapons of choice, and it looks slightly better with the dies that I prefer to use (Autumn Leaves Colors). That said, I will still be fairly disappointed if when I get said Armor it does not glow in the way I find appropriate for the colors I have chosen.

Allow me to quote your reply when the first changes were made.

Its also kinda selfish of you to want the old system back its not fair for people who like the new system and are now spending and getting syvari armor to mix match and get the glow they always wanted so changing it back will be a double edge sword. The point is you cant please every body so i suggest you get to mixing and matching to find some things that can work for you. Any way Ms Perry said she was working to make things better so relax and bite the bullet.

Better get to mixing and matching.
