I’ve recently played with a friend his Personal Story. He picked Malyck’s route, and I didn’t. I was surprised by the spoiler of being another sprouted tree. Sure I knew there was a myriad of the same seeds in the cave Ronan found the Pale Tree’s, but nonetheless knowing somebody planted it was a shock.

In the story, a Sylvari (Trahearne, if I remember correctly) claims the nightmare court must not know of the existence of another tree, or else they will simply destroy the Grove as it has “no more use to them” and then find the “new Grove” and corrupt it.

The question is, why that?
Isn’t the Nightmare court’s objective to “free the pale tree from Ventari’s teachings”? Why would they seek to dominate a grove which possibly has no tablet at all?

Thats not there main objective, thats just the current obstacle blocking them from it.
They need a tree to mass produce sylvari that are part of the nightmare from the start.

Like all evil organizations, there end goal is world domination or maybe world destruction.

Pretty much what XelNigma said. The corruption of the Pale Tree is just a step in flooding the world with Sylvari and taking over. Having another, easy to corrupt tree would make that so much easier.
