Today I uploaded some screenshots about how every cool backitem and even the best new hairstyle bugs through the sylvari T3 cultural light armor. There seems to be no love for us at all.

What is the flower back item? I’ve seen it loads of time.

And I agree, my Rangers new flower bud hair clips through his T3 Medium shoulder guards. Only slightly but its enough to annoy me

Unfortunatly with so many different styles and combinations it would be near on impossible for the guys who design them all to make it so that none of them clip what so ever, and we as Sylvari players have it much better than those who play Asura who… apparently clip through almost all the amour.

its just a case compromise, and finding a level of clipping you can tolerate and finding alternate armour styles that give a similar impression to what you’re after.

While I do also think that all those different styles and combinations are not possible to be taken care of for all classes and races and all different armor types, I don’t really understand why it’s not possible to check hairstyles and “obviously race inspired” (flower backpiece for example) for that race’s cultural armor. I sure hope that this will be taken care of for future releases of – at least – hairstyles.

Given the state of many other armor sets and how they fit (Charr in particular) I don’t really think its a priority for them to match hairstyles with armor, even cultural armor. I’m sure they “could”, but it doesn’t seem likely.

And even if they did, what do you expect them to do? The options I can see would be either to not include hair that clips with the existing armor (which would mean no long hair ever, disappointing many people who have been requesting it and in general limiting their options for new hairstyles), alter the armor skins to clip less with the new hairstyles and other items (very unlikely, things that are already released rarely get changed since it’ll usually upset just as many people as it makes happy, you might enjoy smaller leaves for less clipping but someone else might hate the change for making the armor look less appealing on its own), or alter the hairstyle when used in combination with those specific armor skins only (which I don’t even know is possible in the engine, and would open the floodgates to needing to specially adjust every hairstyle with every armor that clips even a little).

There’s no love for any-armor Sylvari in multiple aspects, actually.

That particular shoulder piece does the same thing on Medium T3. I always avoided due to all back pieces hating it.
The T2 set is more friendly.

The stretching part applies to us, especially males. About 90%~ of the Medium armor does, mostly.
