Guild Wars 2

This is my 3rd toon and 2nd Sylvari so I know how to create them. I wanted this toon to have large eyes and when I was done, she looked fine – until she appeared in-game. Judge for yourself, I’ve attached a screenshot. One eye looks one way and the other looks in a completely different direction – insane.

Is there some way for me to be able to fix her face? I’m not sure I’ll be able to stand looking at her for much longer.

Okay, seriously. I would suggest a mask for now. Its definitely a bug and will be resolved. I’ve seen others with this issue.

I’ve seen plenty of reports with the same issue. IMO try posting in the bug section of the forums as well.

DEAR GOD. I almost crapped myself when I saw that pic. I have never seen this bug before. But yeah, I would suggest posting it in the bug section, and it should fix your toon when they get around to it.

Personally, I would keep it for the hilarity of it all. It’s worth a good laugh.

I mean, if that’s a bug that’s happening to you -- and anyone else -- I sincerely hope it gets fixed.

Pretty sure it’s the opposite, my sylvari has the same face and smallest pupils possible and I’ve never seen this. Either that or it’s something to do with a specific graphics setting or something.

Is there some way for me to be able to fix her face?

A bag might work?

Thank gawd she doesn’t always look like that but its at least 75% of the time. Glad I provided a bit of comic relief. It is fairly hilarious but after awhile, I get a headache, lmfao.

I was going to nerdrage because you called it a “toon”… but then I realized it’s so hilarious that “toon” is the only appropriate word there.

This has been going on for a long time, and for some reason my eyes are pitch black sometimes and bright blue at others, with on and off cross-eyed-ness..

I have the same face and have had the same problem since the Sylvari were introduced. :/

If you wear light armor, make a Mesmer and steal the mask.
If you wear medium armor, make an Engineer and steal the googles.

On the newly created Mesmer/Engineer, use a Transmutation with an unbound white item and the mask/googles, then stick it in your bank. Though it says Soulbound, your other characters will be able to pick it up from the bank.

Voila, no more kitten

There have been several threads on this and the problem seems to be only with that particular face model/skin. It took me forever to sort this out on my ranger since I used that face as well, but based on mine and others trial and error it only pops up if you adjust the iris size. As long as you do not touch the iris size slider at all you shouldn’t see this happening.

I seriously dont know how that happened. Mine can appear walleyed sometimes because of the way i did her cheeks and made her eyes too far apart. i rerolled after looking so profoundly weird in a cut scene i made myself laugh outloud.

i rerolled my character when i had that face because the one eye was larger than the other. couldn’t be happier XD

As others have said, it’s probably just a bug that will get fixed.

That said I’ve remade soooo many sylvari toons because they didn’t look as good in game. I’ll spend 15 minutes tweaking a toon and then I see her in game and I’m like “EWWWW”

Sure, bug priorities and all, but if you only focus on the big stuff, the little ones will never get fixed..

It’s constant for that face if you mess with the iris slider. Lighting may help ease some of the effect, but it’s always there.

I am using the same face on all 5 of my characters and they ALL look like they should not be handling sharp objects.

Ah yeah i remember my first sylvari being cross eyed for some reason but i only noticed when i was around lvl 20. yeah it took awhile for me to notice. So i iced her and rerolled without messing with the eyes. Didn’t know it was the adjusting the iris that caused it thou. Learn something new hehe.

This is why they need to bring in option via trader or a merchant normally the option to re-adjust your character face and body. Didn’t like killing my char off at 20 but if i waited, it would of been a lvl 80 with that problem.

Keep them – they’re far more imposing than any spiky armor.

I wonder if the OP has fixed his char now with the makeover kit… can we get an “after” picture?

I got it too… but I deleted that char and made a new one. Haven’t seen the problem yet. I’m not sure if it’s a permanent bug or just happens from time to time.

It isnt just the particular face. There are a few that get this weird look in the eye WHEN you shrink the pupils past the halfway mark. Enlarging the pupils doesn’t seem to have an effect (from what i’ve tested), but as soon as you shrink them, this bug appears.

This has been a problem since launch, I made a thread about it about two months ago. Since then I remade my sylvari and just blacked out the entire eye (if I couldn’t have small pupils then i’d have no pupils.) And I’m disappointed to note that this STILL has not been fixed.

Here are some examples:

My necro has a weird issue where his left eye looks squinted and darker. Kinda adds character to him though, lol.

This thread makes me giggle uncontrollably every time I see it. This bug has probably given me more joy than any other video game glitch, aside from maybe the car-launching swing set in Grand Theft Auto.

Mine isn’t that bad, thank god but I did notice that the eye animation seems to be slower than the head turning animation if you follow what I mean- it results in a noticeable squint or what ever you would call it. (Weird word filter lol)I made her eyes bright yellow and it is driving me nuts!
