I was bored and decided to create another sylvari and I noticed this. I feel dumb for asking, but I just wanted to know if anet. added this recently or along time ago and I just didn’t notice.
Lol I thought the exact same thing! When I decided to buy a makeover and I saw those two faces, I thought they had been added later. Never seen them in char creation or anyone use them.
They don’t look familiar to me either, but its been along time since I created my female Sylvari, so maybe I’m just not remembering.
I don’t think thats it, though. The bottom face looks really nice (and the top one isn’t bad either) so I can’t see myself just flat-out not remembering them at all. In fact, I’m not so sure I wouldn’t have chosen the bottom face for my character, if it was actually there.
Maybe I just wasn’t paying attention, though.
Or maybe it just looks nicer with the color choice you’ve picked than it would have with the color I made my female Sylvari.
EDIT: Actually I’m fairly sure the last bit is indeed the case. I checked the “Which Sylvari face do you use” thread and those two faces are there, but they look much less nice. Looks like the color scheme you chose and the way you tweaked some of the facial features just makes them look much nicer than they do by default. I probably wouldn’t like either of these faces with their default look.
Both those have been there since the BWE that included sylvari (so, nearly the entire lifespan of the game) it’s just they’re just not very popular at all. It’s too bad, I love that face with the glowing lips, I think it’s the prettiest one.

Yah, I definately haven’t seen many (and by that I mean any) people using those two faces, at least not off the top of my head. Obviously why there are people who can’t even recognize them at a glance.
Though now that this topic got posted and made me take a second look, there will be at least one more using the second face with the wooden bits. I used one of the Total Makeover Kits I bought during the sale to change my female Sylvari’s face to that one (and changed the hair color and glow while I was at it, though those were just bonus changes, the face was what I was really after). I’m quite happy with her new look, its very unique, especially with the skin color I use which actually makes the wood brown, in addition to the secondary green color that the skin color has as well. Most other colors just leave the wood the same color as the skin, I think.
