Will we finally be able to show off the wings added with this achievement, or will we continue to have hobopacks/winged hobopacks?

Talking about engineers here.

Also, how could you have a trailer for tequatl and not have, “There’s something in the water” quaggan appear?

Related to the initial question, what bug-fixes, if any, can engineers look forward to?

This post has a pretty good look on how turrets are functioning incorrectly. Maybe some tweaking could be done before next week? Please?

Where? I’d love to see that, but engineers have had a bad history with bug-fixes (scope-trait, grenade nerfs, kit refinement’s death…), so yeah, a bit skeptical.

HA! How many times have they said that? Sure they get changes, but nothing that ever makes them any good.

Uhh… you said you wanted tweaks and then they say their doing tweaks, but you’re going to immediately turn around get all cynical about it? What exactly do you need them to tell you?

Sorry if you dislike the duality there, but half is very relevant. Will I actually be able to use the meta reward this time, or will it just go to another alt?

As for the statements in the link there, I saw changes to turret ai, definitely nice and long overdue, but in the past we’ve received “buffs” that simultaneously killed our build variety. Hence, skeptical whenever something is being tweaked and it’s not stated what or how.

Still curious about how they missed that quaggan bro too. He’s the first thing I think of when I see the word Tequatl.

I actually just had to update this list of Turret bugs today. The thread linked in OP’s post only accounts for one general category of the issues afflicting them.

https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/engineer/BUG-Turret-Bugs-compilation/first#post2588381

For those linking the Reddit thread: That change in targeting methods might fix…the Turrets not attacking World Bosses.
Fixing that would be pretty nice, but it’s only one of the various issues plaguing Turrets. Beyond that, there’s unreliable Overcharges (of various flavors, see thread for details), inaccurate rates of fire, achievements that are not contributed to by Turrets, runesets that do not function with Turrets, downleveling and traits alike malfunctioning, and oversized hitboxes.

Other than that, there’s enough discontent on the Engineer boards over the interactions between Kits (one of the most widely-used skillsets of the Engineer, to the point where I, a Turret Engineer, have been accused of disliking the class because I don’t like Kits, and people confusing it for the class mechanic) and Back Items, as well as Legendaries, that we’re planning a kittening rally to try to get the dev’s attention.

It’s been a year now, and the plethora of cosmetic back items from the Living Story and Gem Store are still something a Kit Engineer will only rarely see…well, except for the parts that’re sticking out through the Kit that overrides the item 90% of the time (until it malfunctions and the two objects clip together permanently).
Legendaries are similarly nigh-pointless for a Kit Engineer, despite the amount of work that must be put in to acquire one.

For anyone who’s unsure as to why this thread is on this board: Is this not a valid set of questions for we Engineers to be asking? Is this not a board to discuss the Living Story patch? The content? What to expect? All that aside, were the devs actually looking at threads on the Engineer board, we would probably not feel the need to shove our issues out into the light like this.

All we’re asking for is to have our bugs fixed, to be able to see our Back Items, and the ability to actually show off a Legendary while using the set of skills the devs push us toward.

So, there were those “leaked” patch notes, but I would really prefer if we had something to go off of for engy expectations officially. Turrets are being fixed, check. Turrets still won’t be very useful, double check. What about the things people have been asking for since a month after launch? Any news on those changes, or will we have to actually rally for our class? That would be kind of sad…

Turrets are having one issue resolved indirectly, and that’s confirmed by Jon Peters, I think it is.
The other nineteen bugs are, according to those ‘leaked’ notes, unaddressed.
Kits and so forth might not override Back Items, as well, so we might be seeing the end of the Involuntary Hobosack Age.

As of right now, the rally is still scheduled for 9/17/2013, Lion’s Arch, on servers Ring of Fire, Anvil Rock, and Vabbi.

We havn’t had an answer for this in more than 5 months now, so I’d suspect none is coming now either.

It got to the point where I shelved my engineer when ascended weapons hit the ground, and went back to my warrior instead. The kit mechanic has so many issues that go unaddressed that I just want to scream at someone, we need an answer, any answer, just a “we’re working on it” or similar.

Funny, My Engineer works just fine. Then again, I don’t care one bit if some stupid backpack clips a bit nor for any of the Turrets (sans Healing). I don’t disagree that the Turret issues have been neglected for a long time and need to be addressed, but a multitude of clipping issues exist in the game, so throwing a tantrum in Lions Arch about that is rather childish (IMO).

I also agree this is not the forum for a “fix the Engineer” rant.

my engineer works just fine too but it is not a case of clipping it is a case of your back- item completely disappearing if you equip a kit.
Except underwater for some reason- my back-item stays underwater, it is not a bug I hope they ever fix
Considering the amounts of back items in the game it seems a little unfair that engineers cannot really use them.

we engineers want a fix to the hobosacks so we can view our living story rewards as in holographic dragon wings, fervid censer, an adorable quaggan or charr backpack, the new tequatl wings when we attack mobs with kits
so yes this is the place to ask about when they are finally going to fix this issue we have.

I think it is a good enough place. It is a concern about the reward from this event. I am not sure why it is so hard to make the hobosacks optional. You can opt not to sure your helmet or your back piece. Surely it wouldn’t break the bank for them to get some intern to work on this for a few weeks.
