For future references, keep content requiring this much strategy and effort instanced for guilds as raids. It’s literally 2 days after “boss week” ended and tequatl encounters are EMPTY. It went from never being able to get in on your own server to do the encounter, to nobody even bothering to do the encounter at all, in under a week.

This is truly a remarkable achievement for any game developer.

You’ll see some people in a few days, for a new release people always just do that. But you’ll never see as many.

Also once they update the other bosses to be just as hard as tequatl, tequatl will be back on people’s to do list. Right now people are saying jormag and shatterer are much easier so they’ll do that. Really what anet should have done is if they were going to do this update, they should’ve done all the bosses at the same time.

That’d absolutely kill the game.

People obviously see it as too much effort for the reward rendered.

It’s raid style content that is better suited for a guild, rather than a serverwide PuG.

Developers need to tune content around the audience they have not the audience they WISH they had.

Even before Tequatl was revamped, I told them all this would happen. As a result, I was mocked and ridiculed and told to ‘wait until it’s released before you judge’. I really hate being right about this stuff.

It’s a ghost town because you aren’t in Mumble when we tell people which server we’re guesting to. We don’t announce it in Map Chat.

In GW2, Trading Post plays you!

I think it’s worth considering the time of day, and the day of the week. It’s not exactly gaming primetime in North America. By comparison, I saw him go down three times last night, and that’s just for the fights I participated in. Hardly dead when you consider the number of players and the time commitment that many kills involved.

I don’t think there’s anything telling about timer-based events going off and few or no people showing up to them. If they were just restricted to NA primetime, they’d exclude Oceanic players. They could use pre-events to keep Tequatl from spawning, as with the Megadestroyer and Karka Queen, but, honestly, I’d rather have Tequatl ravage the coast in off-hours than make preparations for the fight even more complicated.

The alternative would be to scale Tequatl down, so that there would basically always be people fighting him, which is the case with most world bosses currently. But, if that were on the table, we wouldn’t have had Tequatl Rising in the first place.
