Since launch, commanders having the same color on map and game screens caused confusion for players. If all commanders on a map had different colors assigned by the game itself it would make things so much easier for everybody, examples:

Those who will capture keeps follow red commander.
Those who will defend SW stay with purple commander. etc..
Orr Champ farmers follow yellow commander, Grenth people follow blue..

Since commanders will play a crucial role in this event as well, it can help everyone if those attacking the boss follow one color, those attending the cannons etc. another..

What do you guys think?

It’s not a bad idea, but I think a more practical idea would be for Anet to push the squad mechanic a lot harder than they have. Make the squads able to be larger than 30 people and add more functionality and people will eventually pick up on it.

I think that’s a great idea. Not much more to say, simple color coding would make it alot easier to track what commander is leading what.

Also in wvw, where multiple commanders sometimes work against eachother.

I made this suggestion awhile back but never got traction in the suggestion forums.

if you click join commander squad you only see one commander icon i think this would solve all your confusion.

That is true— however, it would also be nice to know the actions of the other commanders so that communication is much more easier. For instance, perhaps Blue Commander’s squad is too big while Red Commander’s squad is too small. Those in Blue’s can easily point out Red’s position and rally at that point.
