Guild Wars 2

I’m not going to lie. What i was thinking about GW2 PvE content was far from positive.
I found everything too easy and thought every PVE content in this game was designed for an average 10 yo kid. Even a braindead group was able to beat everything. It was nothing close to the GW1 PvE experience.

Then we got the improoved Teq. First i time i faced with it, 60+ player got him to 90% and was wondering what the hell happening hell. It is an impossible kill. Nerf it! Then i realised it is finally something ppl have to work for. You must find your commander(s), you must organize, you must teach first timers, explan them how the event the works. Understand the mechanics etc. I started to enjoy the fights more and more.

This challenge finally brings together the community together. Brings you out of PvE things you get used to. Its a not a perfect event, but finally somthing different, harder then we get used to. Beating Teq was my greatest PvE experience in GW2 so far. GJ.

Dont get me wrong. PVE is still far from optimal. Or nothing close to GW1 diversity but i definitely feel this was a good step forward. Hopefully we get more things like this.

Brings people together? by guesting onto servers and sitting in overflows whilst trolls sit AFK on turrets.

Guesting is an option in the game. There are servers where you simple cant get the manpower to setup this. This can have lot of reason. The server doesnt have a pve community or just doesnt have good commanders to setup a fight.

Sitting in overflow is definitely annoying but i have seen plenty of guild that are specialised on overflow kills. Reading forums, joining a Teq beating squad is not restricted.

It is always easier to sit on your thumb and moan about overflows, guests, Tequatl, AFKers, kittenty commander / turret user, than go out and do something to get the achievement.

This can be time consuming but hey, you are playing an MMO. You have to invest time to achieve.

Yes it brings together the ppl. You get known new people, you probably will chat ome good while wait on Teq, also the cheer, the happiness after beating it on map chat and TS is not comparable to any part of the game.

But only for some people, I have never got out of overflow on my home server, I have guested on several other servers and rarely get out of overflow, when I do there’s not enough people to kill the thing.

I have spent the whole time since this content was released trying to get out of overflow.

“There are guilds out there who are specialized on beating Tq in overflows. Basically they love empty overflows because there are less AFK ppl next to turrets. So they just choose a server to guest and stay in overflow, where they can JOIN IN with their members.”

You have the option to join more guilds and represent only on Teq kills time. But moaning is always easier. It took me like 40-50 fail to beat Teq once. But i started to read the forums and joined ppl organising kills. Mostly they failed but eventually i got him beaten 3 days in row. Twice in overflow.

Before the GJ, you might want to read the forums. Teq is the opposite of success in creating a vibrant, living world in open world PvE.

I’m reading the forums.

But why should i judge differently based on other players opinion.
Also 80% of the players actually coming to a forum to open a thread is moaning about Teq.

It would be better if the average player understood how to get into groups to kill it.

For pubbies at this point we have a system on SOR that just kills him in overflows regularly, people from other servers often join us.

There are also the WvW guilds that get bored (this week has not been a fun week for WvW) and just kill TEQ for time killing.
