I have had enough from Overflow!
So you want to play on a map with 200-300 people and experience so much massive lag that you have no reasonable chance at beating him?
Have you ever participated in WvW map blob with 3 servers fighting each other all at once? Imagine that then apply it to Teq…

So, what’s your sugestion?
Allow everyone in a single map with so much lag that you couldn’t probably get even a single autoattack off, not to mention all the stuff you need to do just to stay alive?
Remove overflows and anyone that tries to get in just gets a “sorry, zone is full, do you want to queue or go somewhere else?”
Kick everyone from main map from time to time so you might have the chance to enter into the main map (and be kicked sometime later back into overflows)?
wrapped up in some crazy ritualist hoo-ha from Cantha.
A real grab bag of ‘you can’t hurt me. They’re called Guardians.
So, what’s your sugestion?
What ANet have done before on several occasions. Reducing all graphic effect in the area and increase the amount of players who can join that area.
And ask yourself, why did the developer said, Tequatl scales up to hunderds of players, if it is not possible because of the limitation of the map?

I do not care about WvW.

Or they could, ya know, optimize the game and net code to support more players in one place. 200 players could easily be done even now, I suppose.
Overflows are usefull generally, but the current limit of players is kinda low tbh. It won’t even support a full guild, in a hypothetical situation when all 250 are online.
I can’t get away from overflow even in my home server, whatever time I go to sparkfly I’m stuck in crummy overflow.
People are just camping in the non-overflow servers forever.
Just instance the guy. Make it so that anyone can create a new instance and then anyone can click on him and select to join. Make Tequatl require minimum of ~80 people to beat him and cap instance capacity at 150. This will change nothing in the fight itself but will completly remove the annoying overflow metagaming. Guilds, alliances and PUG-s alike will be able to band together and challange him without spending hours to actually be able to. I know it comes dangerously close to raids and GW2 was supposed to be game without raiding. But if they decided to create such fight as new Tequatl in the first place, I dont see the downsides of instanced solution.

problem is that servers are extremely unstable during this events, since scarlet event started, not just me but a lot of ppl get dc to lobby and after they end up in overflow .. whats the point of waiting for hours for event when player loose his place because of dc and can’t join event back where he was because server is full..
extremely disappointed

I think that is a great idea. Maybe a new idea for having a commander badge (or being a guild leader) is the ability to create your own overflow server. The group in SoR has been using a voice comm and I heard multiple times that they would like to try and pull everyone to their own overflow server so only the people on the voice comm can participate. This would make it so we wouldn’t have to wait for hours in the main server just so we all have a chance to be together.
Maybe making a selectable instance (similar how you can select sPvP matches) near the location of the Tequatl fight that has a certain max number of people allowed in. This would make it so that everyone that would like to participate together would all be together.
This would also allow multiple servers to fight on the same map without having to guest, just like dungeons.
