Hi,

I have rather mixed feelings about how everything surrounding Tequatl is evolving in both EU and US communities.

While I dont think it’s that bad to have to organize big events via Voice Chat or even Guildchat, things like having to pay gold to get into those guilds concern me greatly.
I really think this should stop right now, before it becomes common practice.

I know some people have made it their main goal to sell “services” like dungeon paths for gold in GW2, but it really should stop there. A commander that wants gold for leading tequatl events (not talking about gold for food or things like that) is just not my idea of an mmo.

Also the difficulty of this encounter fosters elitism quite a lot. Telling people to leave an overflow just because they arent a certain class or dont have a certain equipment is in my eyes just wrong in pve. Telling it nicely would be slightly less wrong, but calling them all swear words, this just causes so many rifts in communities.

One possible solution would be to set timer to 30 minutes, like jormag. All co-ordinated attempts would have a good chance to make it, uncoordinated wont make it in 15 minutes more either.

What do you think about those developements?

I think the acceptance of people doing it for dungeons means you are already on the slippery slope. I find it unacceptable even for a dungeon, or a skill point or Orr temple, and as such I also find it unacceptable for a meta boss.

However there are always players that’ll try to do just that. People should simply not pay them and it’ll go away on there own. If there’s a demand though there is little you can do except not use it yourself.

What guilds make you pay to get their service? Never EVER join something like that. If you want help and are on a US server. Join us at [TTS] – Tequatl Terror Squad. We will NEVER ask you to pay for anything. We want everyone to have fun and slay this beast and future beasts together organized.

People do that stuff? That is sad. Join [TTS], we will never ask for any payment of any kind for you to join or to get help from us… we won’t ask for payment for anything lol.

I wouldnt dream of paying to join any guild for whatever purpose I know my own worth.

It’s just that I heard repeatedly of players doing this and I was so shocked about it. And I wont go around doing name-calling, but there’s one commander on EU that joins overflows and writes “Im leading this only if you pay me xx gold”.

I can simply not pay for dungeon paths, but I cant just leave overflow to do tequatl :/

If commander gets into a server, not an overflow, and says "Im leading this, give me gold, he will be laughed at severely, if hes in server TS, then wed know if it was a mere sarcastic remark made so in a teasing manner that most would dismiss anyways.

Blue Doritos, Aka Commanders, are merely community leaders, but that doesntnmean you have to follow them when they are being, “a lone skritt” for a lack of better words.

Most reputable Commanders would never do something like that in spite.

The day I paid a commander to lead a battle is the day the underworld freezes over.

People in this game are the worst scammers. They were awful in GW and I guess they are looking for ways to do it here too in GW2. My overall opinion is they do it because Arena Net lets them get away with it. Now, I realize many of the scams from GW1 have been eliminated and I applaud the game for taking care of it. But Because they were lax in GW1 the scammers think they can get away with it here.

While playing WoW it was common for players to give other players materials to craft things for them. You needed boots and could not craft them yourself you would call out and someone with the pattern would answer. You would give him the mats and you would get your boots a few minutes later. You could always tip the crafter but often they did not even ask for it. In GW1 if you did this you would get laughed out of the district and be told you were an idiot for trusting someone like that. The scams in GW1 were legendary. Arena Net needs to learn how to police better and keep this crap out of the game.

Paying gold to get into a guild? I’ve never had to do that. Find a better guild.
