I know this probably requires too much coordination: but wouldn’t the best way to defend the turrets would be to send 7-8 guardians with hammers to each turret, stand as close as possible and cast ring of warding every time a ring of warding shield goes down.

Its alot better then having a ton of people group around the turrets and spawn champions. 7 guardians per turret (traited for cooldowns. 8 untraited), 1 turret operator, everyone else in the damage zerg.

It would take coordination between all of the guardians on the map—but a large enough guild might be able to get it done.

Most raids defend each battery of 3 turrets with about 3 groups, you are suggesting 21-28 per battery… sounds like overkill.

You only need 4 people to defend each set of turrets.

This sounds legit actually…. 2 Zerkers to spike down minions/vets, 1 Kiter to hold aggro on the mobs that take too long to kill, and 1 Ele or Mes to buff the other 3 and multitask between 3rd DPS’er and res/turret support

This is highly inefficient for several reasions:
1. the best use for guardians is in attack zergs, for stability/reflect and general zerg buffing.
2. You really need only one group per 3 turrets for succesful defence, as long as those people know what they are doing and can either put out a lot of damage, or kite really well.
3. 20+ people in each turret group defence practically guarantees champion spawns. You don’t want those. One champion grub or abomination will almost certainly mean a turret down and warding is not going to help.
4. For the sake of “efficiency” you have exchangd 5-7 people in defence for 21-24. This is a net loss of 14-19 players that could go to the damage zerg. Hardly efficient.

Again, inefficient, as guardians would be better used in the dps zerg, and there are some mobs that can bypass warding (which can appear due to someone running too close)
There are always some people that would not do very well in dps zerg (condi necros, i.e.). It is better to utilize them where the can do most good (turrets if possible, turret defence otherwise).

The key to turret defense just seems to be:

a) engage the mobs before they get too close to the turrets (especially important if Risen Plague Bearers spawn)
b) kill any Fingers that spawn near the turrets (because their poison fields will either force turret operators to dismount or use skill #3 to cleanse the poison field on them)
c) not be too numerous, because that spawns Champions. About 10 or so defenders a side is sufficient for turret defense.
d) have one player designated as the turret repairman, who just picks up a hammer and clicks repeatedly on the 3 turrets to see if any of them have lost health. If they have, go and repair it.

- just not more than 10 deffenders = no champs
- turrents cleanse themself = easier for def grp
- all repair if needed ( no need for repairman)
- zerg use jumppads to go back, not run thru turrents

Target the Risen Krait Hypnoss first, and try to persuade one or two others to do the same.

They are essentially mesmers, and only bronze status. 1-3 zerkers diving deep (or ranging) and prioritizing them takes them down in a hurry, and a decent amount of their surrounding krait summons will go up with them.

This tends to leave only one veteran krait nimross hanging around with the non-krait Risen. It seems to help the rest of the group focus fire the wave down because there’s less targets of opportunity with the krait “clones” out of the way.

Also, whack the Finger that spawns in between the turrets as a very high priority. Turret gunners focused in on their own survival and cleansing often are not looking at Teakettle. Dump feedback/wall of reflection/smoke screen, anything projectile munching onto it while taking it down.

There are also two nearby Fingers that probably do reach the turrets, and it’s good for 1-3 guys each to advance up (so that when the fingers fire, they don’t fire on you standing in between the turrets) and eliminate them too.

Scan the turrets on a regular basis and repair as needed. They usually need repairs if a big green poison cloud from Tequatl’s fingers just landed on them and was left to pulse without interruption.
