I don’t complain about content in the game much because I think Anet generally does a fine job but this piece of content was just utterly disappointing.

I’m not talking about the rewards. The wings looks pretty kitten.

I’m talking about the actual ‘quest’ itself. There’s so many things very, very wrong with it that I actually think it would be better if it wasn’t there.

1. There’s really no plot. There’s no storytelling, just Rytlock being randomly interested in hunting down Tequatl and sending a grand total of 1 new recruit to do it. Maybe it leads to a darker subplot where Rytlock actually wants Rox dead, I don’t know.

2. The execution was even worse than the plot. Rox is standing right in the middle of a fight with Tequatl, you walk up to her and she’s like ‘Hey, help me find the dragon.’ I’m not sure if she’s blind AND deaf or her neck just doesn’t turn.

Also, how is finding random things to do with dragons related to to tracking down Tequatl anyways?

3. The structure was even worse. Rox doesn’t even leave Sparkfly Fen and just basically tells you to go on a world-wide scavenger hunt for random dragon .. things.

There’s no hint or clue on where to find any of it. If Dulfy’s website wasn’t there, I would be stuck on this until next year.

It’s even more scary that this happens during free trials. A new player is going to come into the game, and since they heard GW2 tells its story and does updates through its Living Story system, without being able to do the Tequatl fight itself, they’re going judge the quality of the game’s future update on this ‘quest’.

About the new player thing, BTW… there are three places where it sends you, sparkfly fen (levels 55-65), Fireheart Rise (60-70) and Frostgorge Sound (70-80). A new or trial player will not come into these unless they do a powerleveling binge of playing 24h, and if a player is high enough to do any of the parts of this “quest”, it’s high enough to participate on the Tequatl fight.

It’s a pile of Elonian protection magic, mixed with a little monk training,
wrapped up in some crazy ritualist hoo-ha from Cantha.
A real grab bag of ‘you can’t hurt me. They’re called Guardians.

Was there any related plot to the SAB btw. ? The whole month there was nothing for me, but at least i finished the meta for the boss weeks with the daily kills of other meta-events .. lol

EVERY MMO is awesome until it is released then its unfinished. A month after release it just sucks.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.
