Now before people start getting into a “nerf to hell” chant like I know will be happening. Is it really that hard? we finally have an actually world boss. not some over done pinata but an actually BOSS. Its not us sitting there with a yawn as you work the usual motions. No, now the battle field is filled with the screams of terror and cries of suffering that is expected when taking on something with the title “world” boss. We have been given a gift people for the first time in gw2 short history we have a RAID level boss. we finally having to work together to survive not run around like blind mice.

I will however agree that if he’s made too hard no one will be interested in a low chance drop that like a precuror will never come. when it just feels like hitting a brick wall with our heads over and over again. so before players start picketing the streets of lions arch demanding the nerf bat be let loose to just give it some time. Thats all i’m asking sure he’s hard NOW but a month or 2 from now will have gotten back into the same rut as before and be complaining its too boring.

You have work together on a serious level with utterly random players. Who may or may not be AFK becaus they did not intent on staring at their screen for an hour. Players who or may not be adequate enough to contribute more then they do harm. A coordination which requires 3th party software.

All for loot that is only slightly better then what other worldbosses drop. When then people who want it for the prestige get it, and get sick of it. Who is left to fight him? No one, thats who.

Just fighting a boss for the sake of the challenge/fun gets boring really fast. And with the currently dreadful effort-to-reward ratio it wont be long before no one even gives a crap about Tequatl anymore.
Either it needs a big nerf, or a massive lootboost.

It either needs to be raid instanced OR nerfed so that open world hotjoin can succeed.

There’s too much prep for a hotjoin group to beat Teq in 15 minutes.

Raising the loot will only make it worse. People are trying to beat Teq just because it’s challenging, both from the actual event and the pre-event work that needs to be done.
Increasing the loot increases the chance non-players mess up the plans of the organized.

Beat it once, got all the achievements, got 4 greens and 1 rare, and I am not coming back.
I have 100 undead potions, food, 240 Fire Elemental Powders, full ascended PVT gear, Ice Bows and Fiery Greatswords.

As long as I have to wait for 2 hours to guarantee a spot in the main server’s kill window this event is dead to me. I can farm all the other world bosses or do a WvWXP train and get more drops doing actually fun things for the time investment required.

Many players cannot tell how hard it is since the hotjoin access means the event is always overpopulated, underpopulated, and wrongly populated. That excludes many players from completing the event regardless of difficulty. Hotjoin is a good word is it not?

its RAID level content in OPEN WORLD, how do you not see the problem here?
theres a difference between doing map completion and walking into the event and going through a instance door.

I already maxed my achievements, and I’m still helping to do the event. So are a lot of other people. You still get exclusive drops, and it’s nice to help other servers to get a win. So don’t underestimate people.

Pfft the “exclusive drops” are pathetic, the guaranteed drops are even worse… you could literally do anything else in the game rather than be forced into a waiting game for hours a day for tequatl to spawn so you dont lose your spot in the server/overflow of your choice.

I am one for “elite” content, but this is just too much. Tequatl should be instanced, should not be on a spawn timer and his rewards should be worthy of the effort it takes to just organize the amount of people to take it down in that 15 minutes….

This isnt a simple issue of “too hard” and “you people complain too much”. Its an issue with it being unrewarding, open world content which is more logistically complicated than “hard” or challenging and easily plagued by issues like AFK, Leech or Greifing.

All in all its like Anet didnt learn anything from the Karka Queen. If that was abandoned by the community who the hell would think this is any different. I surely hope this isnt the “plan” on raids they were talking about because this is really badly done.

I don’t see many people saying that the actual fight is too hard and want it dumbed down. The main problem is the mechanics of getting to actually fight it with a group of others that actually want to do the event. There are terrible problems due to overflow, AFKers, and people there just to get the daily achievement that don’t care about trying to win. I myself would love an opportunity to do my best with others that are as well and either win or go down fighting. At least then it would be fun.

Some say just taxi to a server with a group that is trying to organize. That only works on a limited basis and even then with overflow you still may not get in. The only part of this event that is too hard is trying to get into a real event and not some zombie overflow. Players can’t take part in the event on their own server without trying for hours. That or the server they are on isn’t even trying because everyone has guested to other servers and in turn this goes back to overflow problems for people on their own server.

I know forum can’t speak for the players as whole but it seems to indicate to some degree that this event has alienated a large group of players. There are so many posts on this forum from players that have burned out from just trying to participate in the event as it should be that I have lost count. I have seen very few people say to nerf the event aside from scaling it for smaller groups. I’m on the fence with that argument. Most people just want a reasonable shot at even trying to enjoy the event. This event was poorly planned. It might have looked good on the test server with limited numbers organizing in a non-overflow but the way it is now in PVE open world is a hot mess. No thanks.

We don’t want the dragon nerfed we just want to actually fight it as intended without AFKers, trolls on the turrets, and people just hanging out to get the daily achievement.

I have no objection to the difficulty of the content – but I’m of the opinion that if it’s a raid-level boss, it should be in an on-demand raid instance.

I cannot stand having to wait upwards of an hour for the event to come around, only to be shoved into an overflow with a group of randoms, some of whom seem to have no idea what to do whatsoever, and insta-fail it. And I do not have time to waste nor the patience to sit in an overflow waiting to be ported to the main server just for a slightly improved chance of completing it.

The combination of the near-guaranteed fail regardless of your own contribution and more importantly, the wait for that to happen, have completely put me off even trying to do this event any more – it’s just tedious and disheartening.
