Guild Wars 2

I, myself, have been on Jade Quarry since the games launch. I love being on the server, and while we can be a bit dense and complainy (yes we can, admit it), we still know how to have a good time. I had originally hoped that we would get the coveted spot as being the first server to take down the new Tequatl, but that went to Blackgate (congratulations btw!!!). That being said, I still want to take down the Mexican Fiesta with my server, however this doesn’t seem to be possible right now. I’m hit into overflow every time I try to get into Bloodtide Coast. The few times I have been able to get in, it was because I was able to get piggybacked by a friend who was lucky enough to get a spot. Otherwise, I’m stuck not being able to get into my home world’s map.
This is fine, the Tequatl changes are new, and people want to take a slash as the beast or they at least want to complete their Meta Achievement. They have every right to the map as I do. However, I find that I’m not as interested or involved with the fight when I’m on an Overflow. More often than not, I end up leaving Bloodtide for Lion’s Arch or Orr to run Temple Metas.
It’s not that I don’t trust the people on Overflows either. I’ve gotten some pretty good groups on Overflows. It’s just that I want to do this with my fellow Jade Quarry peeps.

I guess what I’m trying to ask from everyone is;
Do you lose interest once you see you didn’t get into your server’s version of the map? If you do, is it due to server pride or lack of faith towards players on Overflows? if not, then why?

Edit: Sorry if this post sounds a bit complainy! I’m just expressing a bit of disappointment at not being able to share a Tequatl win with my server…

Bit of both I guess. In a lot of overflows people are just afk, waiting to get into the main map. Plus in the main map there is actually a coordinated effort, while something similar is highly unlikely in an overflow.

And yes, I’m also a bit dissapointed. Been trying to get the kill for two days now. And despite a lot of great efforts by great people on my server, most attempts were wasted by people trolling, being afk or just being bad.

EDIT: patching swtor as we speak, got the taste for raiding again and atleast there I get to pick my teammates.

I hate when I can’t get in my server, but it certainly is not because of lack of faith towards players on Overflow. It is 100% because of server pride. I am a Toaster since launch and I’m always in WvW, so I’ve got to know a lot of active players in my server, even if we are not in the same guild. Usually, I randomly meet people that I know around the world. People that I defended Stonemist Castle or that I roleplayed with.

Server pride, for sure.
