Tequatl Lore: ...what?
Lazer turrets lame, dragons should be slain by bare hands only
Last boss of the game simply cannot be killed while “cut scene”.
This release is an obvious Quality of Life release, and should have no story, at all; at least, not new story. If it has any story, it should respect the chronology of the previous iteration.
Giving Tequatl story just because is cheap and lame. If they add any, it should be for improving what we have, no another additional layer of confusion.

There is an unreleased map centered around the corpse of Zhaitan, so I don’t think he’ll be coming back.. Ever. Just watch the manifesto again, or any trailer.
YOU assume Zhaitan is dead but all other players that have not finished the Personal Story don’t quite see it that way (so your theory is based on a kittenumption).
hmmm… That’s a good point. The LS can’t assume Zhaitan is dead, since some players hadn’t kill it yet, but then it should, since some players had. So, the LS is cursed to be a untied story that have no relation with our PS, until a GW2 expansion comes around and give us another main enemy?
That sucks.

It doesn’t matter whether LS is during or after PS, because the map in question is positioned during PS, its terrain you pass through, events and quest you complete, on your way to slay Zhiatain. Maps are permanently stuck in their time zones, they wouldn’t make sense otherwise.

maybe not during the time of a human life, but in some centuries

Link please… to the ‘unreleased map’
One thing that bugs me, with what anet has said about the elder dragons, as well as in-game lore about them, is that no one is comparing them to Lovecraftian mythos, Elder Gods like Yog’Sothoth or Cthulhu. Similar to the Elder Gods, Elder Dragons don’t die because they honestly don’t live. When the time is right, they are awake, at others they sleep. They can be defeated, but never truly destroyed, only minor victories in the face of true terror.
Ph’nglui mglw’nafh Zhaitan Orr wgah’nagl fhtag!
It has never been stated that the elder dragons are gods/not alive, or CANT die. In the past, they have only managed to suppress them, to put them to sleep, but that does not mean its impossible to kill them. I believe that Zhiatain is dead.
Would it be reasonable to speculate that Tequatl’s rising is related somehow to Zaithan’s (apparent) demise. Previous discussions about the role of the Elder Dragons and their champions within Tyria suggest that the EDs are, in a sense, living embodiments of Tyria herself. That being said, is Tequatl’s invigoration due to either 1) Zaithan restoring himself in a state of “undeath” (essentially using his servant to do his bidding in order to help restore him) or 2) Tequatl somehow realizing his place as the new Power of Undeath within Tyria?
