Does a Necromancer even help the event, or does this necromancer hurt the event because his contributions are less than the scaling?

1. Necromancers are good at condition damage, but Tequatl clears your conditions before they even tick due to the condition cap
2. Non condition damage necromancer buils are based on critical damage (because attacks are very slow), which is worthless against Tequatl.

Look at Necromancer weapons:

1. Staff: 4 of the 5 skills don’t hurt Tequatl other is low damage
2. Scepter: Condition damage overwritten, low and slow attacks
3. Axe: low damage, poor range, for stacking vulnerability overwritten
4. Dagger: put the Necromancer in melee with no vigor or defensive ability

None of these are good. People have told me that you can help out by defending turrets, but the class is even worse off there because the fingers count as walls, which could take 10 mins for a necromancer to auto attack down. The one skill that sorta helps, Golem charge, prevents the class from taking Lich form to help with damage after the laser fires.

What’s left is a bunch of people sitting around spamming staff 1 and bringing no utility. That’s real fun.

Well of Blood isn’t a water field, isn’t wanted. The buff wells only buff 5 people and are on long cool down. Necromancer stun breaks are terrible/long cooldown, but if you don’t take them fear takes you out of the ight for 30 second when he does it. Necromancer has no wanted fields and no finishers that work in the fight. Minions get 2 shot and are on long cooldown. At least you can pull conditions from allies. But is this even good when other classes can wipe the conditions and not get killed?

Ok, these are not new issues. It was hard to get gold on old Tequatl, until the threshold was lowered. But they remain frustrations nonetheless.

Staff 1,1,1,1,1 shroud 1,1,1,1,1 … or … pick up elemental weapon like ice bow and 4, drop elemental weapon … lay heal fields.

Willing to pay for boxed expansion if you put legit GvG in the box $$

Well of Suffering and Corruption are great damage sources when placed in the right place, also the dark field combo helps with life steal. Staff is slow but if you attack on his side you can pierce through him and do more dmg.

Stay back and defend the turrets. You can crit on his mobs and they take condi damage. That is way more useful than you apparently realize.

That’s my take on the issue. I’ve yet to take part in a winning fight and I can’t help but wonder if part of the reason is due to not enough people defending the turrets. It seems everyone wants to attack the dragon.

We’re basically turret kittens since staff marks don’t trigger, conditions are entirely useless against Tequatl, and our power build relies heavily on critical damage (and lacks range). Conditions in general need a serious overhaul against world bosses, Tequatl only exacerbates the problem.

Defending a good turret operator is just as important as burning the boss. I’ve been in turret defense groups as a condition based thief and have just melted the waves coming after the turrets.

what are you talking about?

run a power/tough/vit build. i use axe/focus and im in the main zerg. use WoB, WoP, whatever the power signet is, Blood is Power, and Lich Form

Tons of dmg. Beaten him twice today in EBay.

Using skill 2 of axe I end up at 3k dmg. Always use BiP, especially right before going into Lich Form. When in Lich Form try and get quickness on you and you throw out your auto attack pretty quick doin over 1k per hit. If you’re in trouble just go into DS then pop out if you know your heal is off CD.

Except necro niche is much more than just condition. It’s definitely a learn to play issue.

while power is king in this teq fight, it doesnt change the fact condi builds are screwed in this fight just as crit/crit dmg builds are

fights like these should have rolls which can equally contribute to the fight, no exclude people from experiencing certain aspects of the fight cos they chose the wrong gear/spec

the power aspect of this fight where you need to take off 25% of teq life to get to the next laser phase unfairly penalizes any condi build, aoe burst is the way to go and unless that changes it is going to force players to all have a pvt set of gear much like they forced players to have magic find gear

Necromancer supposed to be defending the turrets, because their AOE can melt mobs like crazy if you know what you are doing. If the second phase comes up you can run to the laser and defend it too because it will also help a lot with your aoe to aggro mobs as much as possible so they wont attack the laser charger. when the 2nd phase end and teq was stunned, you can run to teq and use your lich form to do tons of damage on him, and when the 1st wave almost hit, run back to turrets to defend again. that is how you play necro in a tequatl fight. it is not frustrating at all. you actually do everything. which is awesome. i use scepter to take down fingers, i see no problem at all.
