Im all for hard content and Tequatl is very nice but you overdone it with the requirement from people – its jsut not working to fight something like this with complete server

- a Boss like this need training
this is imposible with a 2-3h timer AND always other ppls cause overflow and a mixed mass randoms who have always other skills, knowledge, gear, afk´s … and so on
- Combatlog to bad to analyze the fight
- we already know how to beat it but its imposible to coordinate this many people

SO PLEASE
make this fight instanced for only 40-50 players with lower respawn timer after a fail and when killed 24h cd

this would bring finaly raids to gw2 and something guilds can go for

you still can have a tequatle worldboss for everyone with same mechanics but NOT this hard to beat/learn/requirements, and for this you can make loot like it was before

the casual masses was happy with a 3h tequatl for a goldie

give guilds or coordinated pugs a 40-50 playerz tequatl

thanks

p.s. i like your work guyz at Arenanet and i realy hope you Mr.Arenanet read atleast what i wrote

bye

Marnick,

Why are you so opposed to having a raid? The game mechanics in this game don’t exist in the other games you mentioned/they havent been released yet, so it would be nice to enjoy dodging/ working together in a raid environment. It would be nice to have a chance to coordinate with a group of friends to actually get this thing down instead of having a bunch of randoms who dont know the boss mechanics.

The post was removed because mentioning other games apparently isn’t allowed.

Well .. I’m not against raids per sé, but I am against all the negatives that tend to come with raids.
The word “raid” almost invariably involves the following:
- 4 hour long dungeons with meat sponge bosses and trivial time sink trash
- weekly gated drops which have to be shared around in a guild
- tiered gear progression ad nauseam and the continuous destruction of my character
- elitism through gear checks, cookie cutter builds and other antisocial behaviour
- trinity gameplay as an illusion of teamplay because that’s the only way to meaningfully engage more than 5 people
- extremely broken PVP because of the gear ladder

Most threads about raids merely want the style of raid present in other games, which mostly focuses around all those negatives. A lot of players bought GW2 to get rid of those mechanisms.

Because of all those reasons, Arena.net decided to put this raid in the open on a boss with a 15 minute window. As such, it has all the positives from raiding, and almost none of the negatives. I personally believe that’s a good thing.
It’s a good thing, mainly because the people with jobs, families, friends and sports are still able to join in on the fun and the rewards. I’m not taking a stance against raids necessarily, but I do believe, very strongly, that having a family and a job, to take care of your body, is a positive thing.

It is very difficult to “pause” a raid of 40 people, merely because your kid needs his bottle of warm milk, or has to be refreshed. Doing instanced raids is virtually impossible if you have any responsibilities of that kind. If having a baby , or other important life choices such as passing with high grades at university, means you fall behind on a gear ladder, it’s a bad game.
I play this game, because I’m planning to have a family. Raids, by the limit of a 24 hour day, are not an option in my life anymore. That’s the primary reason I play GW2, that’s the reason I don’t want instanced raids in this game.

I firmly believe that if a game is not compatible with a healthy, social lifestyle, it’s a bad game. Arena.net claims they don’t make bad games, and this Tequatl game shows, to me, that they try to make true on that objective.

Now if all the negatives of raiding could be avoided somehow, I’d welcome them for the hardcore. But that’s not possible as far as I know without introducing ascended tier 2, without introducing trinity, without introducing elitism. I pass for all that, and I must pass for raids.

If I can’t play Guild Wars 2 at work, I won’t work in Guild Wars 2 either.

I think you are underestimating people- sure some will give up after one day because it is hard but to say that people won’t learn is not realistic.
When the game launched no-one knew anything and we all had to learn.

Too many additions in the game lately focused more on loot, every man for himself and less on teaching game mechanics and co-operation.
It has been one day since the patch- most people have not even had a chance to try it and already you want to take that chance away and stick it into an instance.

Same goes for guild raids- so sorry only big guilds need apply.
As for saying that “casuals” can still have an easy mode world boss with less rewards is insulting tbh.
Casual does not mean moron.

You are suggesting taking content away from people because it does not fit your definition of a raid
Face it this is Anet’s answer to raid content- I suggest players step up and get their game on.

noone asked for a gearladder
and i said 40-50 players instanced with the tequatl how he is now
AND
the normal Tequatl how he was before for the masses + a 15min timer

it dont need + stats geardrops on the raid(the 40-50 player version) – just the archievements and whatever he has now in loottable

for me it is totally anoying to know how the boss work and can pull it off but have to do it with 200 randoms where 15% is dead on the floor and dont run again, 10% do other stuff in reallife, 25% do whatever they want and dont care for mechanics, and all the other trie there best but will failcause they have to compensate all the others

bosses dont work with this mechanics for the masses – i know on blackgate they kileld it but i bet it was some organized guild and they will not do it now everyday and all spawns

we will now see tequatl failing for 1-2 weeks and than noone ever went back

noone asked for a gearladder

Then why would you and 40-50 other people run this raid boss repeatedly? You wouldn’t; after you obtain your achievements / skins you would do something more productive with your time.

Your model suffers the same problem; after 1-2 weeks of Tequatl, no one will ever go back.

yes people would run it repeatedly for archievments or skins same like people run all day now for a year circles in cursed shore killing mobs to get mats for skins

gw2 is all bout skins or achievements and ppl would do it

Achievements and skins are finite rewards – are you telling me that you would continue running the content after you get everything you want?

It’s not good enough to say ‘people would run it repeatedly’. Unlike champ farming, raid activity isn’t ‘people’, it’s ‘members’, and that makes all the difference. Beyond the initial couple of weeks’ interest, the amount of effort required to assemble and coordinate a large group of people would be too much.

than why you think people go dungeons more than 1x? or kill worldbosses we alraedy have every day? or the temples? …….

it dont need better gear – it works for skins and archievements like everything in this game already

because you would not do it for no better gear dont mean others think like you and the game show “it works”

its jsut a question what rewards like tokens for skins , or higher dropchance precursor, or a chest with new crafting mats, or chance of older event skins, or pets or whatever

is no problem to make the rewards so people would WANT to run it more
