What about the other two?

Now that Tequatl has been bested. What are people looking forward to for the other 2 dragon champions? Personally I’m hoping for a less focus on DPS builds, and more for the other 2 playstyles, control and support.

I realized that the revamp is not so much creating something entirely from scratch but more about making the fight that was originally intended. That means existing mechanics will be reused, and made a bit more significant. Still there are a number of things to discuss:

What we have now
Teq is primarily a dps race. Most of the control and support came from turrets. All organized runs have people build to boost maximum power, %dmg increase, dps consumables and so forth. There are some limited stability and projectile defence, other than that there’s no build variety. This leaves a sour taste on people who prefer something else. While support oriented players can opt to do turrets, do we want an engagement where 6 people determine the fight for the rest of the team? What if they disconnect, or otherwise got to go? The fights are supposed to be open world. The 6 key members situation seems to go against that.

Other options
We have a rich variety of control options such as blind and weakness, and multiple ways to disrupt. This is just an example, but wouldn’t it be interesting if Teq would gobble up control conditions on itself, and expend scale stacks in the process, instead of having the turrets staking it? What if the primary way of dealing with fingers is to disrupt it, rather than just roll it with dps before it makes the first swing?

Then there’re the turrets. There’re only 6 of them. I get that Claw of Jormag has unlimited bazookas instead that anyone can take, so that’s different. Again as an example, what if we flip it around and make it so claw is immune to all damage (it fits the lore), except the vigil bazooka. And the fight primarily involves people taking control and supportive builds, and flipping between picking up the bazooka to damage claw, or dropping it to fend off dangers? Another way to put this, how many people would like to see a fight where bunker builds (optimized for HPS, rather than DPS—to maximize time on bazooka) is the meta?

I want it to make sense right away, then another sense later. Murkiness =/= quality "
