i wanna know whos the first to kill Teq

On overflow. Got him down to maybe 70%. Only one or two turrets when down. Just too much HP in too little time.

Quatl needs a new name: The one that will never die again.

I wasn’t able to participate in a fight against him/ her/ it yet, but you all sound very promising.

No One, and here’s a prediction. If no server has managed it by the end of this weekend, it will never be completed in its current state outside of the Anet offices.

We’ve just experienced a release (SAB 2) that clearly shows that players very quickly lose interest in content that they deem too time difficult or time consuming, The Aether dungeon was deserted after a few days for the same reason and now we have an event that is not only very difficult, but can only be completed if large numbers of players are in attendance and working as a team.

By Monday, I will be surprised if more than 10 people are showing up at peak times to attempt this and a major nerf will inevitably have to follow to try and tempt players back.

Pretty much this. Only three ways it will happen.
1) Major nerf
or
2) Completely abandoned.
The mostly likely event is
3) They will just nerf it but not announce it. That would allow them to not lose respect to the “hard core crowd”, while allowing the majority of players to do the content. Sure people might think it’s been nerfed, but with no announcement there shouldn’t be much of an argument.

It will be fun to see which one happens.

Got it to around 60%. Not possible in it’s current state. BG also didn’t get it to 25%. That’s a lie.

It’s not a lie, it’s just stretching the truth. We had him down to around thirty to fourty percent in our last attempt—he didn’t enter his last transition, so he didn’t quite hit 25%. Hard to get an exact number just by looking at the bar.

New name for Tequatl should be SCP 682. (If anyone knows what it is)

It may well be beaten tonight, or in the next few days and kudos to the less than a handful of well populated servers with huge guilds who manage to complete it, but the fact is (and this is an observation not a complaint) it will be deserted in its current form by next week for the reasons I have stated and I personally cannot comprehend why so much developer time and effort is spent on creating content that surely does not meet the brief of retaining and attracting players.

OH i agree. It may be nerfed soon maybe not. But if they do this will all the world bosses, it won’t be a good idea. But overall even the dragons like this isn’t all that great of an idea. That is what they want though so…

If that’s true then it just proves that both the target, and the meter on the right is inaccurate. I don’t doubt this at all considering how we found out the bar for necromancers wasn’t accurate.

It hasn’t even been out for 24 hours and it has already been defeated. If anything they might actually buff this boss.

Not unless they want to gate most players from ever completing it. Which would only drive more people away from the game, not draw them into it.

Was just about to post this, better get into trying to kill this Dragon early, because in a week, it won’t ever go down.

Yeah. That’s my goal. Get the achievements early just in case they decide not to tone it down a little bit it and instead let the event die a quick death as content that will actually be played.

All I got was a couple blues, some dragonite ore, and some masterworks from the chest. Which from map chat seemed to be what most people got. Didn’t care to much though,cause I was just so excited about being part of the first Teq 2.0 kill.
Hopefully my next kills will grant me with something better

There’s always going to be something that separated “them” from “us”. If the developers remove those checks then we’re left with everyone getting a participation ribbon for doing menial content…we’re left with what Tequatl was before today.

As was said above the majority of the players got a rare or 2, some champ boxes, dragonite ore, greens and karma. (A nice amount of karma).

No one was linking the new skins or the mini’s.
