Q:
As a Turret-using Engineer, I’ve compiled a list of issues involving Turrets. One of the first bugs on the list was the issue of Engineer Turrets not targeting World Bosses like the Fire Elemental, Tequatl, Claw of Jormag, and the Shatterer.
Note, if you will, that two names on that list are World Bosses explicitly stated to have been adjusted.
The devs haven’t said anything about whether the bug has been fixed, but I’ve seen a couple mentions of a stream – so maybe you folk will know.
So. Does anybody know if Engineer Turrets will attack Tequatl or the other World Bosses?

A:
Welp, Turrets don’t attack the Fire Elemental. Seems unlikely they attack any World Boss they didn’t previously.
[Sarcasm]Thanks for not fixing that bug while you were updating the World Bosses anyway, Anet. Really makes me feel like going and playing the Living Story segment I can’t use my Turrets to attack the boss of. You can certainly expect me to jump for joy when you finally indirectly fix the bug (hopefully) because actually resolving an issue in a timely manner (read: a solid month after the updated world bosses hit) isn’t what you get paid for or what players should reasonably be able to expect. [/Sarcasm]
In all seriousness, this kind of lackadaisy approach to bugfixing (seriously, a kittening month after the updated world bosses hit, and it’s an indirect fix, if it even works for this purpose?) is why I have refused to put money into the Gem Store when I had it, and will continue to refuse to put money into the Gem Store until…no, at this point, I’m never putting money into the Gem Store. This got ridiculous a while ago, and now it’s just getting pathetic.
So…288 Views, three days, and nobody’s got a clue.
Great. Thread’s done.
Any engineer topic here is avoided by developers…i am 100% sure You ‘ve been couple of times on engii’s part of that forum and witnessed the same silence, so IMO questioning developers about turrets nad generally engineers as a class is pointless.
A: no, turrets still broken.
If Teq remains a structure, I would think that turrets will continue to not work (same for traps and marks).
However, traps, marks and turrets will come in quite handy in dealing with adds and defending the power nodes and Hylek turrets.
Dont think its a bug, just use your engineering stuff on the adds as they are the key to win the fight.
Those leaked patch notes say that turrets will attack what the player is attacking. I am not sure if that is legit or not.
Those leaked notes are for midway through October.
The Living Story revolving around Tequatl starts tomorrow.
It is most certainly a bug. It’s even been acknowledged as an issue and will hopefully be resolved by the turret targeting change, if it hasn’t been fixed in the next patch or two.
Also, Turrets will probably be no more useful against the adds in the Tequatl fight than they are against the adds in the Claw of Jormag fight; I guess that’s about all they’re good for in these fights, though, since there doesn’t appear to be a fix coming until this time next bloody month.

When the changes come in doesn’t change anything from what I said. Tequatl isn’t going anywhere. So whenever the fixes from the leaked notes come in, engi turrets will work. It may or may not be 2 more weeks off, but they will eventually work.
The question was mostly focused on whether they’d be able to attack him in the Living Story we’re about to see, but I suppose I didn’t point that out in the original question.
Of course, it doesn’t appear the devs have any interest in setting concerns to rest, and nobody’s heard kitten except for the leaked notes for mid-October.
