Buhni burned (Kessex at real level 26)
Hmm, asura?
Also, they probably didn’t test it. Seen how close Moogaloo village is to the tower’s wall? The quaggan might as well evacuate ASAP, since they can’t get food from the water now.

Except for all the players giving them crab meat. :P
My level 27 Engineer, Buhni (guess the race) decided to check out Kessex Hills. After all, my level 80 Norn ranger had fun killing Krait while down-leveled…
Uh, did you ANet folk TEST the new Kessex with people on-level?
Just wondering.
Now I admit, I’m not the best engineer ever, but Buhni is getting his ears singed. Those mobs are tough on people at lower levels, and you just changed a leveling zone. You might want to rethink your balancing; my ranger in all exotics/ascendeds is great in the area, but the scaling is murder on Buhni in greens.
BTW, the name if Buhn-eye. People think I’m a “bunny” for some reason.
done it on my lower level characters since I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. Works just fine, takes 9.5 minutes on a level 26/27 character wearing BLUE and yes I repeat that BLUES! Maybe you guys need to learn how to dodge With the people running around in Kessex Hills, it’s defiantly a leveling zone but a much better one, got my lower level to 70 in few hours. I do understand it’s difficult for some players but after all it’s a great patch and not that difficult.
I’ve been leveling my Guardian in Kessex since the patch came out. Granted, she was 31 when I started (and a Guardian), but I haven’t had any trouble, other than dying to the toxins right around the tower itself. I’ve actually been enjoying this update more than I expected to. The place is so full of people right now, you can usually find company for every event anywhere near the tower.
It’s getting better… maybe the practice is doing me good.

whats so wrong with engi . i main one and i do just fine in any game mode with little to no issues. the class isnt the problem its the player. Engi is a verry verry strong class in the right hands it takes getting used to because ur switching in and out of kits verry often almost like an ele. 1st problem is yes you should learn to dodge time and time again ive seen countless other engis thinking they can sit in one kit and spam attacks all day without dodging its pretty much stupid to do that with any class. And aswell ur low lvled so start working on getting better traits aswell and when u hit 35 try and spend some money on rares thats when engis truely shine ull be able to handle pretty much anything comming ur way in those events.
Engi is an ok class at cap, for wvw and spvp at least.
But from all the professions I leveled, engi was the hardest one. Plain and simple.
Even on ele I can melt mobs in seconds in Pow+Prec blues from tp by simply spamming 1 (I won’t even start going about war and guard). With engi it becomes closer to dealings with vets while doing simple hearts.
Just try some other class if you have any other lvl 26, and see the difference.
Engineer was the second easiest to level for me, after Guardian.
At low levels I’d go dual pistols, fire and bloodlust sigils, all into power and precision for gear and traits, Flamethrower and Thumper turret and literally burn foes to dust. A bit boring maybe, but I could solo champs with that just as good as any other class.
How current Kessex Hills is for a lv27 I dunno though.
I went in there with a newly made character, using a scroll to go up to lvl 20. Had white lvl 20 gear. I do well enough, despite being 2-4 levels underleveled and only had issues when I went to the southern events. Got higher level and have been having less problems.
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.
I do the events on my baby necro- she is level 43 now though, was high 30’s when I started,
No problems.
One of my mains is an Engi and I had no problem levelling her at all- she was very easy after my Mesmer.
As someone has said go dual pistols with bloodlust sigils. Power/ Precision- flamethrower and I use grenades too ( no idea about turrets)
You will be fine
I managed at level 23 on my necro, though I did have to take my time during the solo instance for the most part. There were a few close calls. Having to ‘finish’ enemies is probably the most frustrating part.
Went there with a level 30 ele. Ran into trouble in the instance (I still haven’t finished it, the finisher made things kind of difficult when liberating that village—-plus I haven’t played in a while and my dodging skills got rusty) and died to toxin a few times. Also I got killed by centaurs when I was busy dealing with the spores, had a few close calls with the assassins when I couldn’t get to them in time for the finisher, being a ranged ball of squish with the stamina of a caterpillar, but otherwise did okay.
I think it’s definitely not balanced that well for solo play on low level characters, though, especially the squishier classes. And the mob spawn locations don’t mesh very well with regular leveling and exploration——you get groups of veterans and elites walking around far too much. I think it’s a lot fairer than F&F’s scopes, though. I started playing in the middle of F&F and would die instantly in the starter zones whenever I run into those, after being repeatedly stunned, knockbacked and ganged on by the surrounding mobs.
Personally, I think Engi and Mes are the hardest to level.
And I’ve run through Kessex Hills on two characters, one who is 80 and another who isn’t. I agree that it was much harder for me on the lower level. All the toxic content feels like it’s been designed around level 80 gameplay; even the hallucinations initially spawn at level 80.
By Ogden’s hammer, what savings!
First off, just because Engi is harder to use for you, doesn’t mean it’s a bad class. I main an engi and she’s a versatile powerhouse.
Secondly, I think the issue with Kessex right now is the scaling. Level 27 players aren’t used to having to condition cleanse often and will feel overwhelmed with all the vets and champs appearing due to the zergs. In a month when the zones calms down it will simply be a challenging zone and not so harsh. Personally, I look forward to leveling my alts there so it’s not so faceroll.

I have one. It’s one of my favorite toons to play as and was fun to level. The versatility and the options of build types makes the Engineer a lot of fun.

One of my two capped toons is an Engineer and I love playing him. But that’s beside the point. I’m levelling my thief and have problems if I’m caught alone with conditions on me. And that’s the only realy issue I see with conditions and lower level toons – they won’t have the skill base that a capped toon has and maybe hasn’t selected any condition removal yet. That’s a wake-up call on having the tools to do the job.

There’s a lot of disagreement about engie- honestly, I inks it’s definitely powerful, and will take you places, but has several quality of life issues that anet seems to either not know about or not care about

Did fine leveling my warrior (in blues and greens) from level 26 to 32 in Kessex last night. I range with a rifle when I get into trouble and the rest of the time I’m in the face of baddies with sword/axe. This includes doing all Spores and Champs. May either be an Engi class problem or you just play far too risky.

Thank you for a friendly, insightful response. Yes, it appears to be a condition-removal problem. And I don’t have 25 skill points for the new healing skill at level 30ish. So I just need to be more cautious. I think I’ve been playing my fully decked-out 80s too long.

Engineer has a couple decent Condition cleanse utilities. Elixir R is one I believe. Best to equip at least one while running about Kessex. It will help with everything aside from the new Toxic boon..
There should be plenty of people out there now with the new Healing Skill. I’m surprised I don’t see more out there using it as it helps tremendously while fighting the offshoots.
