Kessex Peak !!

It’s in Viathan Lake, southeast of Fort Salma. You can see the miasma in the lake now.
Aaand since Viathan Lake is in the same location as the castle, it means we won’t see any update on the castle situation for a long while.
It is quite easy to find out, Holy Whirlwind: unfortunately, it is not the Kessex Peak castle, but a tower constructed by krait in the center of Viathan Lake (Kessex Hills). This can also be observed (apart from invisible barrier that is present right now ingame at Kessex Hills) from the trailer: in the closing portion of the Tower of Nightmare trailer, you can easily see boats on the right, and the big Tower in the distance.
From the trailer, you can see that those boats are seen from Triskell Quay, a fisher village in Kessex Hills, and that the Tower of Nightmare is at the center of Lake Viathan.

There is a large tower/castle in Wizard’s Fief, Kessex Hills, just southeast of Garenhoff.
There’s no connection, as far as anyone has hinted at, between the wizard Isgarren (owner of the tower) and the new Krait tower.
I’m not sure I ever want to see the Wizard’s Tower in the Living Story. I love how mysterious it is, and the ominous, implied story around it. Even a good execution in the Living Story would take away some of the magic of the mystery for me.

Ahh well thanks for the answers. I am still at work, so no access to in-game content just yet, just the News thread which mentioned Kessex Hill and tower….so I incorrectly assumed the mysterious castle in the south east corner of that map.
Nah…They’d rather add more disjointed random lore on Scarlet than explain previous interesting underlying lore.

I wonder how people would feel if Scarlet took over the tower as her main base of operations. On one hand players finally get to go inside the tower they’ve been begging to play in since GW1, on the other hand it gets corrupted by Scarlet.

It hasn’t been forgotten. But it hasn’t moved either. :-)
This is from a thread created over a month ago but I think the devs do have something in mind so hopefully eventually, we will get to explore the wizard’s tower.

I’d probably give up until GW3. Catch up on my reading. Learn woodworking. Something like that.

I’m of the same opinion to be honest, it’s common for people to THINK they want to know something mysterious, but do not realize they are likely only to be disappointed because the answers don’t match what they feel the answers should be.
