Turning Quartz into Charged Quartz was a brilliant excuse to have players revisit locations, that would otherwise visit only once in their character’s life cycle… And now you are allowing them to do it in their home instance? (same spot where we get our normal Quartz)

No problem with the “source of power” node in the home instance though. Always just ran to the one by the fort in Queensdale since its the easiest to get to anyway.

Revisit locations… all I did was go to the queensdale nearest skill point thing and commune.

I never had any reason to charge any quartz, but it’s probably for the best. I’m already pretty unhappy with having to use crafting to get my ascended weapon, so at least I don’t play one of the few professions/builds that actually use celestial gear.

I would like to be the first to say, this reward is pretty awesome. A nice convenient spot to power up my Quartz Crystals.

Looking forward to this update. I know that we will get a Krait Obelisk Shard in our home instance but will this be a new crafting material also?

It’s also a skill point but it’s pretty meh as a reward.

I don’t follow? How is having a spot to gain a Skill Point Daily (which you need for recipes) or use to charge Quartz Crystals (which you need for crafting) in a convenient spot a bad thing?

Now instead of mining the quartz and WP to a Skill Point you know of, it’s all right there for you. That’s a quality of life upgrade I’m more than happy to achieve.

Perhaps I’m just pleased with the simple things……

It’s not daily skill point, just single skill (hope not single) point that stays as Place of power so you can charge quartz. I would agree about Quality of life upgrade, but I think a skill point and small tiny QoF upgrade is not worthy of being reward for Meta achievement.

Because if you needed skill points you could literally run CoF p1 in 7 minutes and get a skillpoint nearly everytime.

It is a fair reward will be nice for anyone who is crafting celestial gear, personally I probably will use it rarely if ever but glad to see you are so happy about it.

Hmm.. well if the Skill point is one time.. that takes away from it a lot. Hopefully they are both on a daily reset.

Its a convenience item. Works for me, will keep me from having to trounce around looking for a skill point to charge my quartz.

I don’t know why some people are saying “it sucks as a meta-achievement reward” when most of those aren’t all that great either. Usually a skin or minis.

Yeah. I’d take this over a mini Krait any day.

The only location anyone ever visited to charge quartz was in queensdale at the castle anyway, nothing is really being lost here.

I’m not saying that Minis are good for meta either, for F&F we got Gloves, exotics and for Dragonbash we got awesome backpack skin. Bazaar was good, really good itself. and CC gave us Tonic, PERMA.

And I thought the only place people upgraded was Orr temples after getting the chest.

I actually think it’s an awesome idea. got sick of looking for a place of power and all the loading screens to get to it….now get ur nodes and do it all in once place!

Thanks Anet! It’s little improvements like these that make the nice QoL changes.

As for Krait Tower, yea I was mystified by it the first time i saw the lake and was being pushed back when trying to swim in that area.

The trees being cut from the near by hills made the place look very different too….opened up the view as well…and made me wonder what was going on. However, Krait are one of my most hated enemies, so not sure how much i’m gonna enjoy it lol.

One skill point a day is possible, but I would think it would be too many skill points. I would think that the first use would provide the skill point, and from then on it would only charge your crystals. This is how other locations work.

Even if I can only charge the quartz, this is a win.

Now just to have bank access inside my home instance in case I forget to bring quartz with me. >.>

Now if they could put a bank in my instance, I could get my quartz faster, mine the ones there, and then commune daily. Add more to our home instance…especially the bank or crafting stations (which has bank access). I’d also like a trophy case to show off my Wind zepher and other achievement tokens….actually I just don’t like them taking up room in my storage.

I’ll take it as it is better than nothing but to be honest though, I find it sort of depressing that we would get excited over this. The only way to make time gating more convenient is to remove it altogether…

I don’t think I have Celestial in any of my builds, so I don’t have a use for crystals, but so what. I like having the option, rather than having to go out to places I don’t want to just to charge it up.

What if it’s a skill point that can be used once a day by a single character on your account? That would be fun. Recharge the SP every reset. Then you get a free SP as currency for your main or an easy SP for an alt each day.

While I won’t complain about this for my alts, and it would still be a nice addition, I don’t think I need it. 600+ skill points on my main and over 100-150 skill point items sitting in my inventory. Unless the potential new skills before the end of the year cost lots of skill points I’d argue most people who have been playing for a while won’t really need an extra +1 sp a day.

I’m hoping they include a Priory scholar who’ll give us lore on the krait and a recap of the tower events when the event’s done, standing next to the obelisk shard (and perhaps studying it).

I’m beginning to wonder if there’s a story plot point to it or if it’s just for advertisements. That voice actress isn’t voicing any characters in the game yet AFAIK, so it seems weird to hire someone new just for the trailers when they could use someone they’ve been working with already.

Just go to Nonmoa lake and wait a couple minutes and you’ll hear one (since no one ever does that meta).

I always use the Durmand Priory one, since it’s the closest to a waypoint.

i think this is a pretty cool idea and nice change from back packs, i mean really how many of those we need? But if we get momentos in our home instance showing off what storylines we been through, then im ok with that too. I think queen Jenna owes me a clockwork guard for my home instance.

Before everyone decides it’s a great idea to get a skill point every day from your home instance, do you really want to spend three minutes of your play time every day to go get this free skill point?

it’s the small things in life. i for one think it’s a nice change! from the looks of it.. and in case people haven’t noticed it already they’re adding more and more to the home instance, so think of it from a long term perspective. it could potentialy be another one stop shop for all yoru special harvesting needs.

and i don’t think this is the end of the update. this is just a tease if anything. i feel… maybe they don’t want to giev away too much yet, so who knows.. there might be more?

I’m looking forward to getting the Obelisk Shard. 1 more skill point for all my characters never hurts, and the convenience of being able to charge my Quartz without even leaving the Home Instance is pure Quality of Life improvement.

I just used the Temple of Ages one or the Mount Malestrom volcano one… so i didn’t really go anywhere to do it…

I’m sorry, in what world is Zerker the ONLY way to play? If people want to spend a lot of time to use Celestial Gear which is about as far from “Min/Maxing” as possible, and thus a beacon of obviousness that they could care less about speed runs, then by all means let em!

Because some eles, like myself, don’t like dying to a sneeze that occurred from across Tyria… That and i couldn’t give a rats kitten about damage, i’m more of a supporty person myself…

I know that, but even on my alts, by the time they hit 80 (from exploring the world/map completion) they only need ~30-60 more skill points to unlock the last of their skills, and those are the ones I don’t care about/never planed on using. Plus the longer you play the more skill points you’ll get. Between world completion and leveling to 80 you don’t need many more skill points to learn all of your skills, or you already have extra. Unless you are heavily focused on uping and fliping mats they do just stockpile. So I don’t see why there is a need for 1 sp a day.

I don’t farm champs, those are all that dropped from scarlets invasions 2 months ago, I just don’t have a reason to use them yet. Champ farmers most likely have a crap ton more than I do.

And I hope that’s the case. Other than the 200-300 I need for a legendary/upgrading t5 mats, they don’t have much of a use right now. I’m honestly really looking forward to new skills.

I gladly welcome a source of power in my instance.

I hate having to carry them with me and go out to find a SoP I can charge them at, and even more annoying when I’ve hit “Deposit all collectables” without releasing and then getting to a SoP and having to go back to a city.

Same here. I also use Soldiers, and still die quite easily if I’m not careful.

Good idea for a future update.

I love the idea behind the Obelisk Shard, it is a great move by Arena Net. The more achievement rewards for the home instance, the better.

You simple can’t please everyone all the time. I like more additions to my homes instance. Opinion will vary.
