Marjory as recipe sheet vendor - deadline?
Probably all month. Next patch probably a temp dungeon in the tower. Real question is how long pristine spores will drop
I would imagine that if the next LS has us invading into the tower, which seems to make the most sense, she would probably be leading us in there. At that point, her location may change and the recipes may be gone.
I could see it either way.
Yep, we need some official word on this. After the unexpected removal of the Zhaitaffy vendor (even though he’s coming back after Halloween) and the immediate removal of the Queen’s Jubilee vendors without any warnig other than the event ending (people expected them to stick around for a couple weeks as a “grace period” like Moto does for SAB or the Dragon Bash vendors did), I can’t really say for sure Marjory will keep selling stuff through the entire event.

My guess would be that she continues to sell the recipes until the end of the next LS event (although another NPC may pick up the role rather than Marjory herself). Still… to be safe, I would get all the recipes you want before Nov 12th. I’ve already obtained all the recipes myself.

I haven’t even gotten enough spores for one recipe yet >.>
Mind you, I’ve been trying to split my time between farming spores and farming gold (I want about 4-5 of the Dreamthistle skins, so I need a lot of gold right now), but still… getting Spores is a sloooow process. And buying them on the TP wouldn’t help my gold situation, even though its what I’ll probably have to end up doing.
Wish they dropped as much as the Watchwork Sprockets. I had no problem getting enough of those for all the recipes I wanted AND a few of the weapons as well. I think I did buy a few stacks from the TP, but they were so cheap it wasn’t a problem doing so, and you could farm plenty yourself too.
Maybe the Tower will provide more Pristine Spores. Just have to hope the vendor sticks around.
You can get the recipes in the glory boxes as well
way cheaper too.

Buy the recipes directly if you can. I got most of the recipes for around 3 – 4 gold each, buying them off the TP from people who got them from Toxic Seed Boxes (from Glory vendors). For recipes that were higher than 6g in price (like the various Toxic consumables), I just bought stacks of Toxic Spores and exchanged them with Marjory.
I’m almost certain that the Tower will give more Toxic Spores though. Probably something like 10 – 20 every time the dungeon is completed. I’m just hedging my bets by getting the recipes now just in case Marjory DOES stop selling them.

I don’t see 20 spores per run making any difference considering it is possible to get a lot more than that from just a single patch of seedlings and they respawn in around 10 minutes. 20 per run would be a very tiny drop in a very big bucket.
I’m only getting one spore on average from a seedling patch. Having to wait around 10 mins for one is a very inefficient way of getting them, at least in my experience. If you really want to farm spores, the best way is to go to Kessex Hills and just join the zerg going between the Meadows and Overlord’s Waypoints, doing the Offshoot events, and even that only yields about 10 – 15 spores for the same amount of time.
Prices for the Spores seem to have stabilised around 2 silver though. If my hunch is right and the Tri-Key chest gives more Spores, prices should collapse in the next few days as the zerg heads inside the Tower.
One time I got 19 spores from one patch… it was one that was killed when I wasn’t there, so now I’m wondering: perhaps the longer you wait before grabbing the mroe you may get?
I would guess it’s more likely you had a combination of a server gathering boost from WvW bonuses and a string of “crits” under the boost.

Now that I think about it I am getting much fewer per patch than before. 3-5 spore from one plant was also very common. The higher yield ones were in Kessex while the rest are not. Not sure if that is the reason for the difference.
The Seedling patches (bunches of 4 – 5) only give an average of one Spore per entire patch (sometimes 2 if you’re lucky). Most just give Mushed Spore Sample junk items.
The Seedling that spawns from completing an Offshoot event gives 3 – 5 Spores.
The Seedling that spawns from killing a Spore-infested Veteran/Champ gives 1 Spore.
However, all Seedlings are named “Toxic Seedling”, which is where the confusion has probably arisen.
The drop rate on the spores is horrible just like the availability of the candy corn nodes based on the first Halloween and the conversion to cobs. This exponential amount needed coupled with the increasing difficulty to acquire is making the grinding in this game so much worse. The grinding that wasn’t supposed to exist in the first place! Who is calculating the drop rates and requirements for materials and recipes now?….Is it the same group who came up with Legendary, Ascended and Fractal requirements?…If so move them back to high end content and keep them off of the basic game content.
