Could this next update (Tower of Nightmares) finally be leading into the culmination of what’s been happening around Tyria for the past year? If you look at the full map of Tyria, you can see that the water in Kessex Hills originates somewhere in Magumma. This is the same place that the supposed sixth Elder Dragon (Mordremoth) is. The Krait in the trailer are obviously corrupted by something, could they have been corrupted by Mordremoth himself (same possibility as Scarlet)? Main reasoning behind why Mordremoth might be involved is due to the Krait Obelisk having hints of corrupted Sylvari architecture and in the Crucible of Eternity it is shown that Nightmare Husks and Poison Blossoms are somehow related to the jungle Elder Dragon.

Think about the differing storylines so far:
- Flame and Frost: refugees driven south by the Dredge and Flame Legion. Tested the might of the Norn and Charr and how they deal with a crisis.
- Dragon Bash / Sky Pirates: assassination of a Lions Arch council member. Tested the might of the Lion Guard and how they deal with a crisis.
- Queen’s Jubilee / Clockwork Chaos: assassination attempt against the human Queen. Tested the might of the human army and how they deal with a crisis.

So far, the storyline’s involving Scarlet creating her army have put the armies of the Norn, the Charr, the Lion Guard, and the Humans on edge. Could the reasoning for this be that Scarlet (and in turn Mordremoth who corrupted her) be testing the strength and response of the respective races of Tyria? Also, think about the races that comprise Scarlet’s army: the Dredge, the Flame Legion, and the Aetherblades. Two of those races (Dredge and Flame Legion) would normally never ally themselves with an outsider. The Aetherblades themselves say that it is better to serve Scarlet than the alternative. Is it possible that the three races that make up the army do not fear Scarlet herself but the power that has corrupted her (Mordremoth)? The same could possibly be said of the Krait, they are xenophobic and would never ally with a Sylvari. However, if they were to be corrupted by an Elder Dragon, it would be much easier to put them under the control of Scarlet who is already corrupted.

Just some food for thought on how the Living World could all be related.

Interesting thoughts. If this is true, we’re about to see those areas near the Brisban Wildlands open up.

Well… if the Living World story was eventually going to lead up to an Elder Dragon being introduced or new areas being introduced it was going to go one of a few ways:
- Kralkatorrik and the Crystal Desert
- Jormag and the Far Northern Shiverpeaks
- Primordus and the Tyrian Depths
- Bubbles and the Unending Ocean
- Mordremoth and the Magumma Jungle

So far, it seems that a lot of the Living World lately has revolved around Magumma and the possible connections there to the Elder Dragon Mordremoth.

Yeah, Mordremoth is obvious. But I still pray for Kralkatorrik because that’s ELONA you know. Elona, Desolation and Palawa Joko.

Mordremoth, yes. Scarlet, no. She is definitely not taken into his Nightmare.

Even if they do ‘tie it together’ you’ll always know in the back of your mind that the ‘living story’ was just a random assortment of non threatening ideas on pieces of paper that were sticky taped together and handed in 6 months late to its teacher who instantly marks it with an F.

I strongly hope that if we ever get to northern regions of Tyria and Isles of Janthir, besides dragon, we’ll meet Mursaats

Well, we do know that the elder dragons can corrupt people to do their will, sylvari have been inmune to Zaithan’s corruption but one theory is that it’s because they’re already linked to Modremoth.

Also, being corrupted by the elder dragons gain part of their powers (sons of svanir can do ice attacks, branded do crystal based attacks and so on), in the “What scarlet saw” short story (SPOILERS AHEAD) after Scarlet leaves Omadd’s chamber (where she suposedly “saw” everything) she gained the ability to grow and control red thorny vines, which she used to kill Omadd, so maybe that is where Anet is going with the living story, turning out that Scarlet is acting as an avatar of Modremoth.

Just a little notion – Norn have no army, (which is just a small notion, not changing or demeaning your idea whatsoever) they live a semi-nomadic life without governments, armies and so on. Your thinking makes sense, I hope the in game reality of it will make as well.

This. And the F is well deserved.

It is more likely to just be more random content that in no way links up with anything else that has occurred like Scarlet. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. They really need to bring in a professional fantasy writer to help them flesh out their storytelling.

Flame and Frost has nothing to do with Maguuma.

Most of the story revolved around Kryta and not Maguuma (Southsun is Kryta, Queen’s Jubilee is Kryta, Halloween is Kryta/Ascalon, Sky Pirates is Kryta, Cutthroat Politics is Kryta, the people the Zephyrites were trading with is Kryta, Tower of Nightmares if Kryta, Dragonbash is Kryta).

Scott said that Scarlet thinks the Dragons might be the only thing that can stop her, but I honestly doubt she has anything to do with any of them. She’s a filler story.

They have built up some nice settings for the Krait and their tower, and i hope its non related to Scarlet since shes such a booring character that they have been dragging out for way too long.

Kraits are vicious and would never ally with anyone, otherwise Anet will have to do a retcon that i dont think ppl will appriciate.

And i doubt this have anything to do with a new dragon, Anet dropped the ball on that one (whole rampup to the game was about the elder dragons, ends up with fail Zhaitan encounter and then total silence).
