Pristine Toxic Spores permanent?

Well noone knows, thats why there isn’t an answer
I wonder if in one of the next patches (well at least one more patch. I’m assuming it goes till at least December) we’ll get some kind of permanent node in our home instance to get 1-5 pristine samples.
Please give us a keyring…
I think kessex hills might be semi-permanent to quell the questions of spores. I really like the new consumables. Its expensive to make, but it is a great way to burn bloodstone.
New cutting edge item buffs are great mat sinks for keeping ecto and crystalline dust valuable.
The new sig/runes require them in their formula. It may not be permanent like Candy Corn isn’t, but there should be a billion in the TP for sale at 6 g a stack.
I hope to god that they don’t stay in the open world. Whilst I am liking the fact that the story is involving the Krait I would rather like to think that we will be able to cleanse the spores in time.
Home Instance spores would be nice though, as I rather think – given the number required for the recipes, there needs to be some way of continuing to earn them.
The spores wolnt ever be cheap, because they can be used to level up artificer and huntsman.
The question is whether
1. They remain at the current drop rates (with the only sinks being some expensive food and oils, an overrated sigil, and some runes noby wants)
2. They remain available but limited (like the watch work sprockets)
3. They mostly disappear until ANET’s economist thinks the price has gone too high, then we get another living story event
I am betting on #3 and have been buying up stacks of the spores. In my opinion, since the ways to get the spores aren’t really that fun, the price wolnt go down by that much during the rest of this event.
The Spores WILL go up in price, is what I am guessing. Don’t buy any until near the end of the event though so its at the cheapest possible price. Their use is rather limited right now, so, they might double or triple in price in 3-6 months time, but I wouldn’t expect any more than that.
Other items have been far more useful, and profitable though. I always buy atleast a stack of these crafting matrials during these events, then sell them 3-6 months later. I have made 10x as much on snowflakes and Azurite, and before everyone flooded southsun and dropped the prices of the materials you can only get there, I made quite a good profit on those too because I bought them early.
Zhaitaffy has to be the most profitable though. I bought almost 5000 back when they only costed 3 copper each. I can sell each for roughly 20 copper today, or I can sell Koi Cakes (which cost 5 zhaitaffy) for 1s30c, which is quite a bit more than what I bought them for, and the price is only going to go up, because the other items that do the same thing as Koi Cakes (Rare Veggie Pizza) cost a heck of alot more and don’t offer that much more time. I can guess that by the end of January or Febuary, Zhaitaffy could cost as much as 50+ copper each (which if I just sell them, that would be 25 gold, which is a heckofalot more than the 1.5 gold I originally paid.) If the pricing trend stays the same though, I can trade all of them for Koi Cakes, and then sell them for 32.5 gold,…
There has been no mention of a Toxic Seedling node for the Home Instance in the next update, so it’s safe to say that, even if the nodes don’t disappear completely, supply will remain fairly limited. Given the range of uses Spores can be used for, however, plus the hints that ANet has given that Kessex Hills won’t completely return to what it was before, suggests that there may still be the odd Toxic nodes around to harvest from.

It could be in the update after that? I mean I know that we’ve been seeing a lot of two part events recently but I’d hope that they will mix it up and develop more of a story arc rather than these little episodes in the future. I think that you’re right though, I expect that the toxic area in Kessex Hills will remain toxic and a source of these nodes in the future.
