Hay, i just had to give feedback about this really great patch! I love how the enemies can be stomped, and the instance was fantastic, spesific classes, and useful spells and combat imfact of the classes! ;.) that’s really cool! The area was also fantastic designed and the new skills is perfectly balanced, however it wasnt competly perfect, as living stories in the patch, it got trouble with telling players what to do, becuse after the great instance you just get put in kessex’s hills and no idea on what to do. And its about a little to mutch open word teamfights. But great patch guys!

I really enjoyed the story too and the open world events aren’t bad but i felt the toxin at the events and around the tower in particular was OP. The new heal skill just didn’t seem to heal enough and didn’t heal my pet at all, so it was constantly dying, like real fast. So was I around that tower. Maybe the cd of 30s is too long, don’t know but it seems a bit weak compared to my other heal skills.

I’m not sure how ppl will take it if the changes to KH is perma. Not sure even how i feel about it at this stage. It looks cool, but I know lots of ppl love that map as it was so yea, if stays as is now, u may get lots of complaints.

The other thing i would suggest if this is perma change, is to synch the other events around the affected areas so they don’t overlap. it becomes a bit too much when other events pop up on top you while ur doing the ToN ones and also seems a bit weird having those normal events happening at the same time, like nothing has changed.

Also wanted to add that I’m REALLY enjoying the new content. I was really not hyped about it before it came along but I really love the structure of the events in the area and the introduction of some new game mechanics.

The only thing that I can complain about — and this is a general issue with the game as it is right now — is the prevalence of “zergs”. I can’t imagine what the solution to this is and obviously at least a good chunk of the players don’t think there’s an issue with it, but this whole champ-farming-zerg thing feels like it’s gotten a little out of hand.

Anyway, really well done otherwise, Anet, I’ve been feeling a bit fatigued with the game lately but it’s revitalized things for me.

I see your new to the living story. Coming in from WvW I see. Keep that hopeful attitude up Its great to see that atleast the new pve players start off with lowest of expectations. They wont be too disappointed

Funny, I’ve been here since launch, off and on, and I’ve played and raided in most major MMOs over the last 10 years, so I definitely don’t have low expectations. I think the new content is great, even taking into consideration all of what I’ve experienced across other MMOs. This is a nice, dynamic evolution of game mechanics and environments. It’s nice to see an MMO developer not be afraid to shake things up with the existing player base.

I really like this update too. It’s a prelude to some huge changes, combat-wise and content-wise. I like it a lot. From a larger perspective, it’s funny to see how areas are chosen. Kessex hills was not just chosen for the nice greenery or the giant lake (what happens to the water supply if you poisen it, hmmmm?). It was also chosen because the upcoming glut on materials for ascended armor was going to be in the tier of materials that drops from mobs in that specific area. It’s smart planning on Anets part. Brilliant, in fact.

I expected nothing and still was disappointed.

Instance = Killing some mobs, then a champ you can kill naked with green weapons, no story

Tower Event = running from one event to another that require no challenge or skills, just boring after 3 ones. What is the purpose of a big tower if you cannot enter it? Maybe that will change. Probably a dungeon.

Witches = kill them three times, no mechanics. I was hoping for some boss fight here. More waiting to spawn then anything else.

Obelisk Hunt = nice, as you can see them from far away, the first scavenger hunt I enjoyed. Although the Veterans guarding the obelisks get a bit annoying.

Cleaning Spore Corrupted Mobs = maeh, running Queensdale Champ train, as this is too random. Boring, grindy.

New skins = don’t like them. But sure some people have use for them.

New Skill = worthless at the moment – we’ll see. Probably if toxin concentration will spread out to in the future it could be of use.

New Receipes = have no use for them, but some might have and might even enjoy the grind here. At least the receips offer you to do something with the bloodstone dust.

Visual Appeal = seems rushed, tons of re-used elements from Tequatl 2.0. New Krait are nice though, but same lame mechanics as before, meaning none. At least something would have been nice.

Toxic Effect = can’t even describe how lame this is gameplay and visual style wise. Yeah, the sound effects are nice when you hear them the first time. After that it’s just annoyig. Also has zero impact on playing and can be completly ignored.

But at least something is changing, hope changes don’t just go away but we finally get some permanent impact on the world.

All in all just another fill-in, still hoping because of some bigger works going on. 14 days release cycle is too ambitious and I expected some rushed patches while working on something more profound ones.

Basically I was done with all of this patch in a couple of hours. Nothing to explore, no interesting rewards. Moving on.

At least Anet didn’t require us to do to 250 spore events or collect 1000 spores. So at least not a total boring grind, just boring.

I think I stomped a few enemy before I realized that I was stomping NPC enemies thanks to extended WvW time, and I love it! Not only can they be stomped, but I’ve seen enemies try to revive enemies in the downed state and that just made me smile. Much better NPC mechanics with that little addition there! I’d like to see that spread to all sentient enemy NPCs to be honest.

So far I’m really enjoying this update!

Story line has me totally lost… I read this guy’s retort and feel even more lost. No clue I had to do so many different things. Nothing in the single player instance led me to any of those other events. Brought my 5 spores to the NPC and ???? That was it? Saw some commander pins ran around with them killing mobs, noticed they were getting something at a obelisk recharged but I didn’t have what ever it was they were recharging… Killed some things… ran around a bit and left.

Still after reading the above have zero clue how to proceed.

Give the patch a 2 out of 10.

That’s great… So the game comes out with a story line you need to run to an OFF gw site to look at completing. How is this even possible. I’ve been playing MMO’s since Diablo first came out, longer than most I would venture to say, and this game without exception is the worst at explaining what’s happening in world events in game.

Yea, that was actually cool, I forgot to mention that in my post above. Also, I noticed when talking to Kasmeer after the solo instance, she actually addressed me with my name in a dialogue, that was a nice touch. It was something i suggested in one of my posts that it would be cool to have that in to improve immersion and make the interaction a bit more personal. So it was great to see it.

there should be heralds around in town that point you in the right direction.You could also try checking the living world achievement panel, it will show you a decent break down of what things to do. Love that Dulfy is there, but players shouldn’t have to go find external sources just to know what to do in game.

Dude, giving the npcs certain proffesions and make more out of it than particle effects is great, for example phantasmal defender, or kasmeers spell she used on the tower.

I think this is a great update. I love phasing. I love stomping enemies with my cow. I like the new runes that may expand on torment and condition damage, and I like that there have been cool armor skins data mined. Im not talking about the ones that are currently in the gem store (those are ok but not my cup o tea).
