The spores are used in the recipes, including the recipes for consumable items. They have a purpose.

What makes you guys believe that the spores that already exist in the world are going to be removed after this event ends? ANet already made it clear that Kessex won’t be returning to normal any time soon, so the nodes could very much become a permanent node in the zone.
A “mini tower” or “mini seedling” would be a very nice trophy/souvenir for the home instance. All nodes are trophies with little perks for me.
I also hoping for a statue of Scarlet after her defeat.
