Why Krait glowing?
I think it’s safe to say these aren’t “normal krait” anymore.
Unless that glow is caused by them being corrupted by an Elder Dragon (the unknown Jungle Dragon Mordremoth). The Risen (Zhaitan) are dead folk, Crystalized enemies (Kralkatorrik) have their flesh turned to crystal, Sons of Svanir (Jormag) are mostly normal looking but a few of his minions are made of ice.
Could be the “Ascended Krait Prophets”
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Krait#Religion
According to the Religion section of “Krait” on wiki.
Their glow is somewhat similar to that of Husks. They might have been enhanced in some ways with Nightmare magic.

Or corrupted. The teaser says something about whipsered promises and madness, which sounds like corruption.
Maybe “Nightmare Magic” is just another term for Dragon Corruption via Mordremoth….

Mad King: Do you know how call asura with lot friends? Me neither
Really? My topic about being curious if the weapons the krait here is something we may be able to use ourselves got merged? Or is it because of these weapons that this krait is glowing and this is the reason why the mod who merged my topic here may be trying to tell us.

We don’t need you to trust us. We need you to rely on us.
Which you do. Tyria is economically and strategically dependent upon the Asura.
Prepare your little failsafes and watch us with suspicion, but know that we’re not responsible for the stupidity of the Inquest in the same way you aren’t responsible for Palawa Joko taking over his surrounding lands.
They had to “corrupt” them anyhow, even breaking back Chernobyl, just to not mess up with Guild Wars Lore. They couldn’t mix regular Kraits with Nightmares, salad people, magitech and Scarlet because true Kraits by themselves are very xenophobical and wouldn’t accept any alliance for simple reason: They think about themselves about greatest race of all, every other is good to enslave. They believe they’re unstoppable force for other races and they have no fear so I can’t find any reason why they should ally with “slaves”
So here we go. Epic manouvers on the LS just to mix everything with Briar and Aetherblades&Magitech&plants&salad and don’t break the sense of actual lore.
If I’m not wrong and we’ll see things as I forsee… I think lore will be non-existing and action without a reason once more. Could be pathetic patch if so

I was waiting for the Krait to be involved at some point.
At the end of the Flame and Frost release, if you spoke to the Dredge in the Black Citadel Jail it said:
“Never again! Lying silver-tongued, snake-nosed trickster! Never again.”
Snake-Nosed immediately made me think Krait. Now, how this all weaves together, god knows, and the above quote may end up being a total red herring, and this release being a coincidence. It’s the only thing about this release that has me excited though. With the last few months of releases, I’d be foolish to hype myself up about this. It’ll introduce some new scheme of Scarlets that, no doubt, in 8 months time will still not be fully explained… cough Flame and Frost cough
because… Scarlet!

It’s her hair.
Tenebrous Fivetree – Guardian

Mordremoth I think got cranky. He’s fed up of Scarlet failing him time and time again so he went and corrupted the Krait who already hate all the other races of Tyria. Why not? Turn the most xenophobic race in Tyria even more xenophobic, add in a bit of Elder Dragon corruption, and set them loose to wipe out the other races.
Krait by themselves are obnoxious to fight. A Krait infused with Elder Dragon energies could be a major problem.

Equally there might be various Krait groups that have perhaps deviated from this traditional view (after all their religion and knowledge that they live by is passed down by each generation not by text but by word of mouth and even then, it has been known to be potentially ‘tweaked’ to serve the priest’s own agenda).
So could it be possible as Xenophobes, and their self proclaimed superiority over other races; they have aligned themselves with “something” (Mordremoth perhaps?) of a clear greater power to enable them to exercise their ‘enslaving’ tendencies upon the other races through more extraneous means than commonly thought – and corrupted in the process as the trailer/text suggests (in only as far as the corruption that is)?

In GW1 Krait were shapeshifting enemies. According to the wiki they still are:
When they come close to death they enter a frenzy which shape-shifts them to another form, this gives them a second wind which makes them particularly difficult to kill. – wiki.guildwars2.com – Krait – Physiology
But we never actually see this happen in game. Perhaps this update will introduce it to us.
If the krait were to align with any dragon, wouldn’t it be the deep sea dragon? They want to flood the world, sounds like paradise to the deep sea dragon.
But seriously, I’m surprised this thread got so far without someone pointing out the obvious. It’s the Living Story. There is a giant briar sticking out of the krait tower. More than likely a wizard Scarlet did it.
hold on to your butts

Didn’t you know? Dragons are gone. They went back to sleep out of boredom, they got sick of politely waiting for us while we were partying in LA.
Expect Superior Krait Killing sigils to rise in price.
bubbles did it…
Basha Blue – 80 Guard, Cat Harsis – 80 Ranger
And many more… on Crystal Desert Server (NA)
Reading all your comments, all i can say, your speculations are more interesting than the story of this patch will be i’m sure lol.
That is the same color glow of Scarlet’s Clockwork Nightmare minions.
….just saying.
I hope I’m the first: They are sylvary. New tree who’s pods took on form of krait with own world domination and superior complex. Sylvary are actually formless to form of humans cause tree was raised by a human. They would be accepted by other krait as their own race and would explain the alliance between krait and nightmare and weird tower construction.
The prophets return.
All 100% speculation and hope.
This is what scarlet saw but not necessarily a part of I hope.
The flower at the top looks like the same thing that caused problems in southsun cove. The glow looks similar to that as well…
because scarlet came and talked to them and her bad dialogue made them all puke up on each other.
Holographic krait.
Hmm or the Inquest dropped some radioactive waste in the lake. There is something in the water indeed^^
Maybe Scarlet introduced the GFP code to the krait genome. At least she did some weird/twisted experiments to them.
I like the idea of the krait prophets. It also occurred to me that the obelisks could have some effect on the krait – the obelisks could have been a component of the process of krait ascension that is recently re-acquired knowledge, previously forgotten due to the oral nature of krait lore.
Basically the queen is trying to ascend and the krait are causing that effect on themselves.

Steampunk. cyberpunk and sci-fi in fantasy game is enough, genetic engineering is bit too much…
