Difficulty of the new path seems off
kill sparki first then mass up at the tree all oil will land there and the ooze can clean it away fast. very easy run because sparki dies fast and slick isnt strong enough to deal damage without oil stacks
Can’t say I agree with that at all. I find Slick and Sparky to be easy.. so did the rest of the guildies I ran it with. After we figured out we needed to kite the oozes next to the oil, even if we weren’t standing in it, it went smoothly and quickly. We kill Sparky first.
I kill Slick first and just rid of the toxic fume mechanic. Sparki is easy in anyways.
Can’t comment on rest of dungeon – we were getting wiped at sparki/slick so have no idea how hard rest is until we can get passed them.
At least the achievements feel like they are worth something and feel earned.

If you all stack up at the tree, then wouldn’t the ooze just come ball up with everyone? and eventually wouldn’t the ooze die because I’ve actually seen the ooze die and it’s just a regular monster (or a silver vet in disguise), but slick should have more HP and outlive the ooze if you throw out everything and happen to injure both.
Worst encounter I’ve seen since Frizz. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I actually miss the old F/U path…even though I almost never ran it.
@ Groonz! Massing at the tree doesn’t mean stacking up. It means we gather around the tree so that the oil will no get everywhere around the field, giving us more control. its also forces slick to get closer to you and by keep moving near and around the tree you easily can avoid the hits of the ooze. ooze had at least 75% left

Has anyone else noticed the trending pattern that it’s really only the pug lfg guys that are complaining about the difficulty. Those who run with their guilds say it went fairly well, as it just did for me and my guild as well. Just saying.
Great new dungeon ANet! Possibly my favorite dungeon in game so far!

Once you get to know how Slick and Sparky works, it becomes easy. Kill Sparki first then just lure ooze around the map while others taking down Slick. If you have a group that is actually take time to coordinate the movements and also able to recognize the ooze luring sign you are easily done. Sure first time with an uncordinated group it seems hard. But this dungeon way is just going to be just like the others. People will learn it eventually and beat it extremely fast.
Desolation – [TEU]
When I did Slick and Sparky with my pug there wasn’t much coordination. It took a couple wipes for us to clue in that the fumes effect the entire battlefield, not just its location. Then we just told whoever got the ooze pheromone to kite the ooze onto the oil. After slick’s dead sparky is just auto attack fodder.
I mean.. If you are actually looking at the screen, then you’ll know what to do. How can this be more easy? Or does everyone play while watching youtube now?
I want it to make sense right away, then another sense later. Murkiness =/= quality "

Nope, this is one of the best encounter ingame right behind the Berserker/Firestorm encounter.
