The ooze took me and my group about 25 mins to figure out. A lot of the guides ive seen are pretty bad. They get one thing right though, you split up. Technically you only need 4 people. 2 ooze kiters and 2 ele kiters. The ooze kiters sit outside the door and wait for the ele kiters to pull all the eles back to the gears. Should be about 3-4 eles for each side. Then the ooze kiters walk in, and kite the ooze all the way to the gear while the ele kiters dps them at the gears. The ooze kiters will receive pretty much no resistance from the elementals since they are at the end by the gear. By the time the ooze get to the end. All 4 ele’s on each side will be nearly dead and you can kill them and then finish off on bringing the ooze.

Oozes are immune to CC but the lava elementals aren’t so AoE KBs work to control what you want, also use Feedback or any reflect/absorb projectile skill as all the lava attacks are projectiles… Anyone who asks for nerfs already but didn’t notice these ways to do the encounter should think/try things before complaining.

This is how I did it. We pulled them to the end, then just spamed CC when Oozes got close.

My PUG had one person grab the left stick ooze and drag it to the right side. They then picked up the other buff and attention of the right stick ooze. The remaining four of us killed and stunned the lava elementals in the right lane. We also used projectile reflecting abilities on the turns. When we got the two oozes to the gate the first one goes in to the gear and we just pulled the second one across the flame to the other side. Easy peasy.

Projectile reflect played a big role in our success as well. I’d say it took 2-4 attempts (not wipes). The elementals die very easily. Only tricky bit was aggro control but again once aggro switched to the ooze, wall of reflect tended to give enough time for the ooze to get further away and elementals killed. Two guardians in the group did help I’m sure.

When you say “Pulled the ooze across the flame” you meant literally that? They don’t catch on fire/die?
I haven’t done the dungeon yet, but I was thinking after watching some streams/videos “I wonder if I can Magnet pull the ooze across to bring it faster?”

Only cc which works on oozes is fear.

We took 2 sturdy heavies who grabbed the elementals and tanked them in different corners out of the oozes path. That gave a clear path for the runners. Was the easiest of the strategies we tried.

We ended up using mobile summonables as living walls.
If it’s a PITA for a player to lob a single projectile through a minion cluster and hit their intended target in PvP, imagine how much trouble a significantly less clever NPC has.

This is a really good section.
There seem to be multiple strategies to achieve the goal, but blindly fumbling around or expecting somebody to carry the group with a single utility skill gets you nowhere. This is a really good advance for the game’s puzzle sections.

Oozes certainly aren’t immune to CC. They get both immobilized and feared at least.

And yes, the encounter should be fixed. It’s bad game design. We got through it but it was a frustrating and annoying experience.

Thanks for the tip. We used this method and it worked. Now we just have to get past Slick and Sparki. They’re doable, we had Slick almost down, but failed many times and it was getting late so we decided to try later.

Kill Sparki (The dredge suit) first. It mades the fight a lot easier.
