Ooze Escort
Ranger pets shouldn’t attack it unless the ranger unleashes their pet, which they should not do. Mesmer illusions shouldn’t attack it unless the mesmer tells them to as they attack the target the mesmer was targeting when they are summoned and disappear when that target dies. Necro minions might, but who runs necro minions?

My pets come outs automatically in combat and one of the mesmer abilities summons a gun guy who aattcks it automatically
Put your pet on passive and it wont attack.
I am not aware of any mesmer ability that summons a phantasm on its own.
As for necros, do not summon minions in this particular fight.
Having said that, I would also prefer it as ally, since hitting the ele’s with a gs warrior often kills the ooze (yup, switch to single target weapon). But it is doable, and I guess not having it as ally is part of the challenge.
I know its doable just extremely annoying especially when the ooze attacks you before your ready to go considering it is like a two hit creature

Just don’t enter the room until your party is ready.

Pretty sure the reason the ooze is hostile is so people cannot cheese the encounter by simply piling aoes in the area to wipe the weak fire eles before they render. Stop using fire and forget skills and you’ll get it.
I want it to make sense right away, then another sense later. Murkiness =/= quality "

Just dont play a petclass if you dont like the petmanagement.

Yes, it should work when you put your pet on passive I’ve tried it myself

I have done it with a Necro minion master. It was a PITA because their pets did keep attacking the ooze. Done it with Rangers and no issue. Mesmers could be an issue, depending on which Illusions they use (eg iZerker could hit the ooze), but pretty unlikely and easy to work around.
The only mesmer summon outside of the mesmer’s control who will target the ooze specifically will be a dodge roll clone. Anything else targetting the ooze was told by the mesmer to attack it.
Ranger’s pet can be put on avoid combat, it will then not attack the ooze. Necro’s should not use minions for this part of the fight.
If you have more than two mesmers I could see it being an issue as it’s pretty difficult to fight not using any illusions (though it is doable). I play mesmer as main, had no problem keeping my illusions in check, I just became one of the party members who lured the ooze with pharamones so my primary goal wasn’t attacking and I didn’t dodge unless an elemental was obviously closer, but mostly I just didn’t dodge.
It’s really not a problem unless you have a full part of mesmers or rangers, but one party member putting out less damage in this instance isn’t going to ruin the encounter.
Did it again first time last night and im ranger just put my pet to passive before it started and so did the other ranger in the party, mesmer there to, just take a few simple measure before the encounter.
Hmmm.. Ranger’s pet is the one of the most efficient here. Aside from skill that can use retaliation.
Be it aggressive or passive. I like to put it on the aggressive since once they dealt with one elemental they will move to another one. Beside having your pet locking 1 target will make you have 1 less worry of ele. Once you reach the next turn, just call for the next target.
For Mesmers, untrait Deceptive Evasion (clone on dodge). As a matter of fact, why are you even using clone on dodge in a dungeon lol?

The Ooze being an enemy is what makes the stage interesting.
It’s also essential to teaching players how the Slick & Sparki boss-fight works.

This is actually stupidly easy and can be done in 30 seconds, maybe you need to stop attacking? Other professions have issues with attacks bouncing etc, see them complaining?
Send 3 in and round all of the slugs up, kite them to the back gate. As this is occurring the remaining 2 just get the oozes and start to kite through the fire. Once the kiter’s are in range to assist, aoe the hell out of the slugs.
Profit?
This needs to be changed so the ooze becomes an ally creature when your doing it cause Ranger pets, Mesmer Illusions, and Necromancer minions target the ooze and kill it when there aren’t any elementals around.
No.
