This patch is going to be small?
I think its kinda small compared to older updates, at least we know they are going to release a new balance patch in mid octomber.
I think that, as someone that doesn’t really do dungeons in this game, the next patch is pretty much non-existent for me. Pity that Pokemon X/Y doesn’t come out until a couple of days before the patch after this one.
It’s also bad that it sounds as if the new weapons are just recolored versions of old ones, and STILL they’ll be locked behind RNG. It seems that the only thing you can be sure to earn with effort is the back item … again.
Complaints aside, though, I do like the idea of adding new paths to the dungeons with new stories in them. They need to keep it though, no removing it after 4 weeks. And with any luck, this will be the end of Scarlet so we can move on to a more enjoyable villain.

I think the design team got burnout on those last updates for the pass couple months and realize its all the same to drop 1 thing every 2 weeks and generate the numbers.
Could you imagine if AP chests didn’t exist? The game would of been killed, the extrinsic values are largely gone
TO many of us have become more and more invested, that people just kind of accept garbage content as new and innovative, and really that boils down to player loyalty. I’m invested, my hours and purchases make me invested in this game but these small updates and no extrinsic value outside of RNG for me to work towards makes the game fall flat.
This and the Tequatl update have been pretty underwhelming. If this is what he 4 teams cycle means then i’m worried. They should drop the spoon feeding. I would prefer to wait 2 months per update if we get content updates equal to that of “The Lost Shores”.
I think they are holding off the big patches until they make a way for us to track the living story as it progresses.

And that it is quite likely that they have pulled quite a bit of resources on that one, and most likely also choose to make the updates before it smaller, just so that people would be able to “complete” them without rushing it before Halloween.
Do you actually think they will redesign the whole Halloween event? It’s going to be the same as last year, but with a few extra things.

Of course not.
But they have HUGE amount of new mechanics and such available to them now, and it is very unlikely that they will just rerun the same event as last year (they said last year that the event itself would repeat every year, but not in the same way).

It is also possible that they ARE reworking the other paths in the dungeon with the patch.

You won’t fix exploits overnight. One may be patch but the same people will try to find another one. Case study: Fractals of the Mist.
The content in this patch isn’t temporary nor was the previous. LFG tool, WvW bloodlust, World Boss and now TA new patch, some WvW (hinted), and I’m sure a few more things that aren’t listed on the release page.
Nothing wrong with skips. It requires skill to skip stuff (if you look at Arah). Better thing to suggest is to make trash more enjoyable. Nobody wants to pound silver mobs for a few minutes it gets boring. Instead have like 100 low hp mobs or something.
Sellers are punished if they kick people near the end. If someone happens to solo/duo a dungeon and they sell 3 dungeon slots that is legit. Big difference.
The most they can do is to require more support like condi removal like they did in the AR dungeon. As for condition damage that is a bigger change since it affects not only PvE but sPvP and WvW.

The forum post you listed is 8 months old, not sure what changed but Anet recently tweeted that Dungeon selling was a reportable offence.

I will be waiting on confirmation from Anet before I do anymore selling.
As for the next patch it is supposed to be for the WvW Seasons event (starts Oct 4), plus this new dungeon path. And I think they are overhauling all of TA with this patch. So no this patch will not be small, but it will not be as large as other patches. I think they are relaxing on the content a bit for this update, as they want us in WvW for the event, as well as Halloween is just around the corner.

Because there will be WvW Leagues starting 4th of October. So devs are focusing on Leagues.
TBH, it’s not any smaller than the current one:
We got 1 reworked dragon fight, with the rest minorly modified to have a timer & more health, and an LFG tool that, as of the last time I looked, it seems a few more people are using than the old tool. (To be fair, I haven’t looked since it’s been announced that it’s available to everyone, though myself & all of my guildies all got access on the second day. But it’s looked pretty empty in there most of the time)
A new explorable path, if it’s done well, is worth the wait. I just hope the rest of the dungeon can have bugs fixed (those blossoms that don’t die!), without sucking all of the fun out of the dungeon, like was done with AC when they “fixed” that one.

That friday also includes the WvW league starting up; so theirs that. I imagine they wanted a smaller update here so that we can focus on the league for the first week.
They don’t always announce all changes anyway…

It looks small on paper and so did tequatl. Anet seems to not space out content evenly which is fine because sometimes it is just better to do occasional big releases and pacing releases afterwards.

Haha, please don’t make me dig the piles of threads complaining that the two week cycle is too much and too quick. Now the “it’s not enough” threads arrive to fight them. Poor Anet can never win.
I personally think that an additional permanent dungeon path is good enough. Especially if it is as awesome as the Molten Facility and the Aetherblade Retreat.

you do know the new dugion path is perm content and new dugion<-which is what people been asking most for from living story. 2nd WvW season starts October 1st also so if you don’t do dugions there is a lot of new stuff happening right now so don’t complain about free patchs please other then content and lack of lore which we don’t know yet one way or the other how good/bad it is. So stop speculating
And as far as size it is about same as aitherblade dugion and most other patches. If you would believe what others say this month has 3 updates if effort is spaced out between them it should be understandable. +Mad king return should have most effort put for it.

I assume that a different team worked on Halloween event.
I wonder when they going to release ascended armors, new fractals, and new legendaries weapons/ new legendary type gear.

The dev already said that there’s a reason the dungeon path has been their main focus and taken so much of their resources. Here’s his exact quote:

Our team’s put a great deal of effort into getting this new dungeon path right, so that it is both challenging and fun. its not an esport league, it just gives the server better rewards for actively winning. However, bad matchups will sour this design quickly
I prefer this size of content. It leaves more room to do other stuff.
I could not get to WvW or PvP the whole month while I was trying to get enough baubles for all the weapons I wanted.
I’m kinda glad to have a breather from a lot of living story content. School started once again and it’s a good chance to focus on other things than gw2 living story content. Also, I’m glad they’re starting to fix all the small bugs and problems players have instead of making new content right now.
I would rather their updates be smaller and less often but more polished.
kitten when will we have real new permanent content, with tokens to exchange vs ascended stuff, and new armor skins ? I don’t want to play same things and save money for months only to pay them in gemstore,or in laurels.Where is fun,diversity and originality ?
