Just finished the new dungeon and wow is it amazing. This does not need buffing or nerfing because it is perfect the way it is. I know people are going to have a hard time with it, but honestly it wasn’t too difficult.

Tips and Strategy.

Oozes –
Do not try to kill the fire elementals as it’s a waste of time. Have 1 person on each side kiting and 1 person on each side just attacking each elemental to gain aggro on it. Have one person rolling back and forth to each side helping whichever side needs help. It took my group a few tries, but also the person running can help by stunning elementals. I was using a thief and just spam headshot on the elementals as i kited the ooze through.

Slick and Sparkki -
Slick throws down oil on the ground and Sparkki does fire aoe, has an aoe pull
and lights the oil on the fight. The oil on the ground will put a toxic debuff on
you that does dmg overtime and stacks the more oil spots are out. Whoever
has the ooze attracting buff needs to do nothing, but kite the ooze into the oil
(also the oil on fire needs to be kited into also). The rest of the group should
be killing Slick and Sparkki.

1. Strategy 1 -Strategy my team used
Killing Sparkki first is pretty easy as he has less health, but once
Sparkki is dead you are going to need to kill Slick really fast
because he will gain an attack speed boost and put so much oil down
once his ally dies and he gains enrage.
2. Strategy 2 –
Killing Slick first is a good option because if you take out the guy who
puts oil down you won’t need to deal so much with kiting except for
just not getting hit by the oozes auto attack as it does alot of dmg.
I do not know what Sparkki does when Slick dies first, but im guessing
it involves a huge fire aoe.
3.Strategy 3 – Probably the best
Kill Slick and Sparkki together. If you can bring them both down to
10% before finishing them off you will be able to kill the other one
without much risk because he will be so low when he enrages that it
will be easy for your group to take him down.

Foreman Spur –
Before the fight starts you are going to want to jump down to the left and get
on the outer ting and clear out the few aetherblades that are there. Then wait
for the steam watcher to come and KILL IT FIRST (if you have a pull wait for it
to get to a corner and just pull it to the team so it can’t aggro). After that just
pull the main group little by little (they all have different leash ranges so you
will never pull to many, make sure to kill the groups behind corners while
stacking so it makes it easier.

The Boss Fight-
Foreman Spur pretty much has three main attacks. He will throw
axes in the air that when they hit the ground will create small
aoe spinning axes. A whirlwind attack that does massive dmg, but
if you just evade two time you should be fine and take little to no
dmg. And an ability that creates a circle that keeps people in it in
and people out of it out.
Foreman Spur is the easiest part of the dungeon just dodge his stuff
and range him down and you should have no problems.

Electricity Room – Switch to town Clothes
For this part there will be 4 platforms around the room (make sure not to stand
on them at the beginning or you will all get thrown off them and die.) You will
need to get one person onto each on them one at a time going from platform
to platform as the last platform your team has gotten to will be your spawn
location on death. If you hit any electricity on your way there you will get a
debuff above your head and you will not be able to stand on the next platform
as it will knock you away. You will need to watch how the electricity moves one
square at a time and make your way to the platform so your team can get
there after you as it deactivates the requirement of having no debuff to stand
on it. Once one person is on each platform, your fifth member will need to kite
the Holographic Thug from the opposite side to the door and then kill him to
open it. EVERYONE ELSE needs to stay on their platforms or the Holographic
Thug will despawn.

Tip: Have your tankiest person kite the holo and warrior sword
leap is great for getting from platform to the next one since you
can clear 80% of the electricity.

Pre-Nightmare Tree – Holographic Generators
There is going to be 8 holographic generators around ClockHeart (the
nightmare tree). Your group will need to kite around the room destorying the
holograph aetherblades next to the generator to make them explode and
damage the generators. Also the floor will be electrified in segments as you go
in a counter clockwise pattern so just run around the room slowly killing each
one. After you finish doing this the ClockHeart will begin. Do not worry if you
wipe the first time, you will not have to do the holographic generator thing
again.

FINAL BOSS FIGHT – ClockHeart
Okay so this fight is really tough and I will try to explain it the best I can.

Regular attacks – always dodge even if he is not facing you
1. Cone Knockback – He will charged up and slam the ground, but
sometime he will do a 180 right before hitting the ground and hit
you. So always always just dodge.
2. Aoe Immobilize – You will see a big red circle underneath the boss
and he will slam the ground. If you do not get out of the circle or
dodge you will be immobilized and take some damage. Try to dodge
this because it will make it impossible to avoid the cogs.
3. Cogs from Hell – Clockheart will throw cogs at every single player,
clone and summoned ally in the area. The cogs will go to where you
were at the exact time it was throw so just moving around will
allow you to dodge. BUT if you get immobilized or downed you are
for sure dead.

Invulnerability Phase- Clockheart will take no damage and start
gaining stacks. Once he gains 30 stacks he will punch the ground 5
times each doing massive damage and knocking you back. To stop
this you will need to get one of the HOLOGRAPHIC STRIKERS and get
him right next to ClockHeart. When you kill the Holographic Striker
RIGHT NEXT TO ClockHeart he will explode and stop the stacks from
going up. It is a good thing to note that Clockheart is only
invulnerable while the stacks are rising, when you explode the
hologram on him they will start slowly going down and you can
damage him again even though he will still have some stacks for a
short time. If you do not succeed in stopping his full stacks then one
quarter of the room will be electrified until you blow up a hologram
on him, but if you fail again at stopping him from getting full stacks
then another quarter of the room will be electrified.

How to beat the fight-
This fight is pretty easy in theory. Dps the boss and make sure you
know where the Hologram is. As soon as ClockHeart starts
gaining stacks instantly have the entire group run behind the
hologram and wait to kill it until they are RIGHT ON TOP OF
EACH OTHER. Keep up this pattern of dodging his attacks and
dpsing him and you will get the hang of it after a few attempts.

Tips: You can use the thief and mesmer pulls to get the
holograms onto ClockHeart. For some reason the Guardian
GS pull does not work.

I hope this guide helps people. It is probably not the best guide, but I have not seen any others up yet and I think this will help people a little. Sorry I am not posting how to do the after boss events because my group was not able to complete them all since we spent all our time trying to figure out how to do 2 of the chests and it would be very hard to type out to find all the chests. If I have missed anything important feel free to post it so others may see it. I hope everyone can have as much fun in this dungeon as I did and thank you Anet for this amazing dungeon.

The two bosses thing, I think that killing first the oil one and then the fire it’s way more hard. First we tried it that way and failed like 3-4 times. Then we decided to switch first target and it went ok.

You just have to see when the ooze gets your aggro and you have to pull him to the oil spots. And if players are close to each other, it will be easier to clean the oil.

Then when the oil boss is alone, just kill him fast, while cleaning the oil with the ooze.

I LOVE THIS DUNGEON. To me it was quite easy ( ofc we died few times tho ) but looks great, has some cool mechanics and isn’t boring. My team did it on first run. Maxing achievs should take me 2-4 days.

Once you figure out the mechanics ( especially for last boss ) it’s a walk in the park.

Yeah I feel like some of the parts need to actually be a little harder. Foreman Spur was so ridiculously easy to fight and I only got hit by him like twice the whole fight.

We were trying to kill him with retaliation. It was funny to say the least.

I’m not sure but probably you can hide from clock attacks behind generators. Though if most ppl are in melee he doesnt do very much damage.
The same goes for ooze guilding duo. They don’t do much damage on their own so stick on them and evade only flame.

The question is any ideas to do Foreman achievement? (kill him first and then the horde of veterans as i understood it?)

Sorry I was gone for a second. So the best way I would see is to try kill all the aetherblades in the front. The achievement is just to make sure to finish them off after he is dead. If you could clear out all but on the back corners and leave one veteran alive. I think you could pull the boss without aggroing him because of how short there leash range is. Just make sure to put a target on the one you want kept alive in the probably top back corner and kill all the other crew. Then fight the boss on the opposite side so that the aetherblade won’t pull. You think that’d work?

Slick is op. I did 20 million damage on that guy, tons of survival tricks, miracle heroic resses, guess what he still overpowered me with that stupid fumes. There’s seriously nothing you can do against it if the AI goes bad (stunlock the guy pulling ooze, so the ooze can’t solute current situation).

Legendary weapons can be hidden now!
No excuse anymore for not giving ‘hide mounts’-option
No thanks to unidentified weapons.

A few tips for the final boss fight:

When the clockheart is winding up his cone attack, agony will tick on you. When it hits 3 agony, immediately dodge and you’ll evade his cone attack everytime. (Important to note that this rule of thumb is negated if condition removal is used while agony ticks are stacking).
Also, the AoE immobilize attack causes him to go to his invulnerable stage, so, just like the OP states, it is highly suggested you either evade or have a condition removal ready to get rid of the immobilize. You want to be mobile as soon as his invulnerable state hits to kite him to the holographic strikers.
And one last attack that the final boss has that the OP missed:
If you are within melee range, Clockheart can throw you over his shoulder. The attack isn’t that bothersome by itself, but it can lead to problems if he throws you 1) into the aforementioned cogs from hell or 2) into the center of the boss chamber that remains electrified the entire fight. It’s not a major concern for the fight, but it’s something that could end you quickly.

We did something like this and got the achievement without any fuss. It took a few pulls of trash and trash plus boss to lead him over to the corner with the ridged pipe (to the left as you come in the door and start jumping down pipes). Now, the area is kind of confined, but if you dodge well, it seems to work out okay, and keep an eye on bringing up the downed. Ranged was preferred to melee.

After he was dead, we went and cleaned up the rest of the trash and bingo-bango, achievement.

Clockwork was tough, lots of getting thrown around until we found the right timing for getting out of the way and bringing the hologram over. He seems to move too slow to just run to the hologram and thus we had better luck getting the hologram to him. Gear regions could definitely use some red circle perimeters on them. Slightly more obvious tells on some of the bosses might have been nice, but then everything was kind of laggy (opening day for content more than likely) so I might have just been failing at the occasional dodge.

Otherwise, really fun dungeon I thought. Not hideously difficult, about 10-15s in repair costs as I recall (and some of that was because I forgot to switch kit on the electricity room and that was kind of unforgiving).
