Is she supposed to be in water, or is she pulling off an invisibility cloak in that picture? Eh, still nice artwork, even if she does look a bit scary.. >.>
I don’t care about the Lionguard. I’m here for you. ^^ I’m not going to let Scarlet mess with you.
“I respect the Lionguard, but I have my own agenda. Luckily, with you here we can all get what we want.”
“I met Scarlet in the Grove, before she went on her academic pilgrimage. I was not overly impressed.”
“Now she’s sent me a direct challenge. She claims to know things…things I wouldn’t want the world to know.”
Secrets about Caithe…this feels like Faolain. If she’s working with Scarlet now, this could become big trouble for the Grove too. But I don’t say anything to Caithe about it..she doesn’t like it when Faolain is mentioned. Besides, she’s probably thinking the same thing herself. Once more into the darkness we go..
While the others and I went through the main path, Caithe took her own path, higher up. I wanted to be with her instead, but I’d probably just slow her down.
“We don’t know Scarlet’s defense system, but she doesn’t know we’re here. Maybe we can surprise her for a change.”
A minute or two later…
Well, so much for surprise. Well, can’t let that stop us. Still, I’ve yet to see any Aetherblades, just some of the same creatures I fought before the last time I was in Twilight Arbor.
“More mulch for the compost heap, eh? Prisoners, listen up! It’s time to make whatever spiritual mumblings you people make when death comes for you.”
Because it has. Scarlet said “Catch and burn anyone who doesn’t run fast enough.” You should’ve run faster."
Such wasted life. This is even lower than the Nightmare Court. This doesn’t even have a point…
Ugh..having to lure oozes was so icky.
So the Aetherblades are further in, killing off the wildlife. Well, can’t say I cared for anything living in Twilight Arbor, but better them than these pirates.
As they eventually fall, Scarlet keeps yelling more and more.
“Make me proud, my minions. Or at least make me laugh. Come on, kill something! Make it messy!
“If I have to treat you guard dogs like actual dogs, so be it: Who’s a cute little puppy? Kill, puppy, kill. Good dog!”
For a moment, Orr passes through my mind. But I brush it off. Zhaitan is long gone. Though sometimes I miss when things were that simple…

“They compliment each other perfectly. Just like fire needs fuel and fuel needs ignition.”
I want to say we fought valiantly and though it was difficult, we won the day. But we couldn’t. They were too strong to overcome, and they utilized a deadly toxin to wear us down completely. Nothing we tried worked. We had to make a retreat and return with others, by then all the defense we had previously cleared had been restored.
Fun fact: Trying to merge with another party while inside this instance can cause you to all be booted, as we found out the hard way, rendering the 53 minutes we gave on our first attempt completely pointless….
Sigh. Note to self, use the old site again. It’s still better anyway.
Then, the second attempt got stuck at the ooze puzzle for 50 minutes, due to a combination of not everyone not knowing what to do, the lava elementals constantly respawning, usually close enough to stack their immobilize, the fact that the oozes count as hostile, so you have to be especially careful not to hit them (also no tab targeting, since it usually targets the oozes first, hooray for more bad gimmicks), and the fact that since you need to get both in within 10 seconds of each other, meaning that even if you do well on one side, the other side can fail and render your effort utterly pointless.
I just can’t understand how they managed to make an escort part so awful, especially when most of the dynamic event escorts out in the open world are at least tolerable to do..
And finally another slog to the worst encounter I’ve seen in the entire game since Frizz. Surely we’ll get it this time?
And it gets worse! If someone decides to mosey on into the boss room again after wiping, the whole team is warped in and locked inside with no prompt or warning whatsoever.
At least with the Frizz fight, you had to talk to Kiel to prompt it to happen first, so you couldn’t do it by accident, or have someone troll the group by doing that.
How is it that they’ve managed to add even more bad gimmicks and at the same time forget the few things they did right?!
And of course another death!
We manage to get more (again) and try to focus Sparki down first. And that’s the furthest we got.
Everyone had to leave after that, for whatever things they had to do, or simply because that path was utter torment for them. I can’t blame them. Three hours wasted on 2 attempts and nothing to show for it all other than more pain, more sadness, more reviling my weakness, and a slight contempt for the Living Story blooming into hatred.
Apparently they didn’t learn a thing, besides how to make more annoying gimmicks that rely on coordination (that P.U.Gs simply won’t have) and an insane amount of luck.
I’m still planning for a third attempt, but…I have little hope for success now. Forgive me Caithe, I’m not strong enough….
Don’t you just love it when you’re close, then 2 or 3 more lava elementals spawn nearby and chain immobilize the ooze to death? Apparently whoever designed this did.
And that happens again, and again, and again until we finally get lucky for once. Took only 33 minutes this time. I still hate it.
The only new enemy so far amongst the trash, and it just exists to summon more trash. Sigh.
And we get choked by a little too much trash.
Note to whoever is responsible for the dungeons: Stop putting silver veterans in them! They’re not fun to fight, ever. Ever since the champion loot drops, I’m willing to guess that silver veterans have probably taken their place as the most hated enemy rank now.
Thankfully a little stacking and line-of-sighting still works wonders on the rest of them, just like everything else.
I still laugh a little at them running…can’t blame them. Well, let’s see if I’m up to it this time.
Time to suffer. At least my favorite music in this game is playing right now. Maybe it’ll help me?
And then it falls apart. But, we did a lot of damage. Next time, we’ll get him..I hope.
…honestly are you on EU or NA, if Europe I can give you a free ride of this dungeon, I can also guarantee that if you do as we say you wont spend more than 30-40 minutes there.
Those screenshots make you look like a masochist. :P
Didn’t realize the forums allowed blog post spam.
Tyr Sylvison – Warrior
Illyiah – Revenant
Okay, maybe a little talking and a bit of cooldown will solve this.
Or we’ll just get broken and burned again.
Okay. Try to pay attention to the random ooze attraction more..Or we could just die again…..
Ooooh, a glitch! Right after that wipe, everyone respawned inside the arena except for me. Not sure how it happened…but there it is. So much for beta testing, right?
Of course the game remembers I exist and warps me in eventually…after everyone else is dead! Of course, another death.
Bugs? Why fix those? Then again, that one feels like it was left in on purpose…
So, new plan. Focus down Sparki instead, maybe we’ll get somewhere with this..
Oh, who are we kidding?
I have to give credit where credit is due. The rest of the party hung on with me through all of this, even through all of the deaths and awful gimmicks. But while their patience held out, one of our team had to leave for other obligations.
We managed to get another and jump back into the fray, once again trying to keep the pressure on Sparki…and against all odds, we break her stupid looking suit. We actually made progress! Surely things will get easier now right?
Wrong! Slick just goes into rage mode, shoots the oil out faster, and generally is just more of a jerk than before. We lose again..but at least we got one of them..
Wait…she’s back?! What?! No…no no no!!!..no..no…
