Guild Wars 2

Considering buying a weapon skin, but I’m confused on how they work. Can they only be used once? I’m not level 80 yet, so when I out-level my current weapon will it have gone to waste? Any help would be appreciated! Loving the event so far.

Use transmutation stones to keep the skin on your current weapons as you level.

So from what I understand (I haven’t used the Wintersday ones but I’ve used other similair items) they are once use only. You buy the item and you receive a skin. This skin can be applied to any item of the appropriate class without a transmutation stone. Once it has been applied to an item, it works like any other transmuted item. You can transmute it again and keep the unique wintersday skin appearance, but to do so a second time you will need to use a transmutation stone. If you don’t want to use a transmutation stone, save the item until you have the base stats you want (a level 80 exotic item with the stats you want) and apply the skin to that item. If later on you want to apply the same skin to another item, you will have to use a transmutation stone.
