Those who have spent more than $50 in Holiday boxes without getting all 3 Mini’s, with enough to create the Quaggan as well, that is more than what it cost for the Halloween one, and I think it would make everyone who spent larger amounts of money on the game in attempts to complete their collections, and with this add the Mini Trio.

Are you trying to say, “Anet, I spent lots of money trying to get the Wintersday mini’s, please add the Trio to the gem shop”?

For gods sake yes, i can’t believe that i’ve burnt through 70 boxes and only gotten 1 snowman and 1 toy golem bulb thingy.. its beyond ridiculous and i detest myself, as do my wallet…just add the trio, you’ve already gotten enough of our hard earned money, i’ve payed for the game twive for gods sake.. do something..make them buyable like the toy ones, i don’t care..

They are never going to change the RNG boxes if people keep buying them. That’s how they make their money. And to complain about how much you spent vs. how little you got in return is a lot like going to Vegas gambling all your money away and then complaining about how Casinos work.

I don’t either.. but as it happens that 70th gave me the snowman.. im done..forever in fact. I’m just sad i actually kept throwing money at it.. infact, im not even sad, ive learnt my lesson and for that i am grateful. You people acting all high and mighty are as bad as us, when you come to pick on us, we now, you telling won’t better it. As you say, if you go to vegas and someone loses his house or all his savings, are you gonna say " i told you so, at least i didn’t do it", or consult him friendly without being an kitten about it..

And thats why i’ve quit doing it, as some experianced with the halloween event with the black lion chests, this was the episode where i now have stopped buying RNG boxes, to each his own pace, im just sad my brain didnt kick in before i spent so much gold..

ANet might keep it up, but that will only hurt them in the long run. One it shows poor customer service by not listening to their customers, and will eventually lead to a loss in sales.

Even though i already spent 35$ + a whole lot of ingame gold + the 1100 gems i had, and got all my minis, I support this option. Add the kitten trio. Stop being greedy. Just because I’m idiot enough to buy them, does not mean you as a company should take advantage of it. Just because I buy the product, doesn’t mean I’m satisfied with it.

Here’s my story.
Hadn’t used any real cash for the whole event so far. I’m quite a collector in this game, especially regarding mini pets. Then yesterday I finally gave in and bought 1600 gems for 20€. First I only wanted to buy the 3 buyable minis that I needed and use the rest for another bank slot, but then I got an extra 250 cogs from Tixx. Because of that, I only needed to buy 2 of the minis.
When I had the 1600 gems in my hands, I thought: “Oh what the hell, there seem to be a high rate for the special boxed minis”. Tried my luck and bought 10. Opened them all and got 1 Snowman. I was a little displeased, as I had seen a person getting all 3 in 10 boxes on YouTube, but then again, that’s RNG for ya. Then I bought another 10…..bad mistake. There was not a single mini in all the 10 boxes. This made me a little depressed. 20€ for 1 green mini pet.
After sitting it out, I bought another 800 gems and bought the 2 buyable minis. Had 100 gems left and bought another box for the heck of it and got another mini Snowman. I was pretty surprised and at first angry, because i didn’t know that you could get the rare Quaggan by forging any combination of the Christmas minis. After I found out I realized that I only needed 1 more mini, so i bought another 10……..GOD DANGIT. No mini yet again. By then I just realized I had just used 30€ and only gotten 2 of the same mini. What the hell was I doing!?
After some consideration I tried to buy another 800 gems. Didn’t work(THANK YOU CREDIT CARD COMPANY!) Got pretty angry and decided to sell one of my old minis and had just enough gold for 300 gems. Bought 3 boxes and got ANOTHER snowman in the first box xD. Forged that kitten and got my sweet quaggan! So yeah, after 30€ and 6.5g I finally beat the Mysterious boxes. Will I try to get the last 3 minis or buy these boxes again? NO FREAKING WAY.

And this Preyar is why ArenaNet’s way of RNG is distasteful to say the least. It lures you in. You know the risk, but you also know what you can get. You didn’t like the idea to begin with, but just 1 more. I’m not saying it’s not your own fault, it is in every way. But it is ArenaNet who hosts the RNG. And I am disgusted with them, for doing it.

The “Just one more try…” thought is what makes gambling so effective. Especially if you won just a teeny bit beforehand.

If you have a lot of self control you could set a hard limit (like say, $50) and whether or win or lose, walk away with whatever you end up with. Although I suppose that kind of thing is easier with money and not cosmetic things that probably appeal to you.

I know it’s my own fault very well, but it isn’t gambling at all(answering the guy after you) In casinos you get money in return. That is a whole different story. Here you get a special item, which not a lot of people have. You know what you get and you want it. I took the chance, failed miserably 2 times, but lucked out at the end and I got the item I wanted.

And if Anet wanted to “take care” of their players they could easily make a workaround for this to happen, so that for example, every chest that does not contain a mini, contains a token. 10 tokens (or whatever) then is exchangeable for any mini (Not Foostivoo of course, but then let him be available for 40 tokens)
