Hello I’ve just spent about 1h trying to get this achievement and I must be doing something wrong because my counter still says 0/1. When I mouse over the tool tip says Stop gift bringers in snowball mayhem. So I did this for a bit I down them but nothing happened, then I made sure to finish them after downing them still nothing happened. I’ve even tried unsuccessfully to down them then finish them and finally take the gift back to our base but still the counter sits at 0/1 mocking me for not doing the right thing to trigger this achievement.

Can anyone point out what I’m doing wrong?

Finishing doesn’t matter, just gotta down someone holding a gift. Play scout and run up on them in stealth and rapid fire them in face.

That’s what I was doing. I relogged into the mini game and it’s counting up now

there were times when my gift stopper tally didnt go up. i’m not exactly sure what caused it. it might have happened when multiple people were pummeling a carrier but someone else did the majority of the damage or something. this is just a guess though.

I’ve heard it said that only the person doing the last bit of damage that causes the carrier to go into down state advances the achievement.

That’s why you shouldn’t use rapid shot as a scout, but stealth and aimed shot, a 1 hit of about 10k damage will close to 1 shot anyone, they won’t have time to react on dropping the present before you finish them off

A lot of people carrying the present are simply dropping it a second before they die to deny others of the achievement. It took me a few hours to get playing against morons like that.

Yeah people were doing it to me also when I was trying to get it. Trolls. :/ Or overly kitten people.
